The first, 'stimulus,' package wasn't a stimulus package. It was simply a message to the American People telling us who really owns the nation. Goldman Sachs and Bank of America are two of the organizations that are in charge. The second 'stimulus,' package also failed to be a stimulus package in that the, 'advisors,' to the new President are pretty much the same people that advised Bush. So, another avalanche of dollars was given to the banks that created this deepening recession.

Did it occur to anyone in Washington to loan money directly to the American people? Let the banks that created this deepening catastrophe die, but make sure Unemployed Americans have enough money to stay in their homes. And, while we are waiting and waiting for the inadequate amount of money that was given to the states to employ people, why not create many more federal jobs in each state to help our states keep basic services going.

There are people living in their vehicles right now in Lee County. Because of the lack to trust generated by these gifts to the rich that we call 'stimulus packages,' the new president is unlikely to even ask for the amount of help that unemployed and underemployed Americans really need.
