Do you think California would be better off with a part time state legislature?

We HAVE a part time legislature...we just PAY them full time...plus perks ...for what???

Seriously, Nevada legislature, I think, meets only every 2 years,and for a limited amount of time, (60-90 days??) and if they don't agree, the last budget stands... (Not 100% sure of this info...came from a friend who lives in Reno.. but I have not checked it out myself) Cv

Yep. Look what California accomplished back when we had "only" a part time legislature--world class freeways, schools, infrastructure for water and more.

Taxes were much, much lower. Sales tax?? Only 4% until the legislature went full time. Then it was 5%. Now it's double! Same with them creeping up other taxes.

They have all the time in the world create more and more laws that require you to be a lawyer to figure out, yet for better than a quarter century haven't had time to put together a budget out on time, yet still reap the rewards of salary, benefits, etc. as though they had!

Right on Cathy and Larry, these sons of @@^^** get the free use of ca. vehicles, free parking at the capitol, vouchers for food,gas,and travel expenses, most of them have never had to work a (real job) and pay permits, taxes, and all the fees to be a small buisness. 1 month a year, pass the budget or go home and pay all your tax increases with a real job, it would be fun to watch.
