Every second counts in a heroin overdose. The people experiencing these deaths are our children. They're good kids who made a mistake and are now addicted to this terrible drug without adequate support to kick the habit. We need to do everything possible to help them.

ppl just dont kick the habit of herion its a life long commitment to be drug free. Narcan is also avialble in a nasel spray i dont see what the harm will be for the police to carry it around. Narcan in actually available at any neddle exchance. so if the police wont carry, you as the parents can get it and carry in!

It is a no brainer! Every single life is precious. Many addicts have kicked their habits and went on to be very productive citizens. My daughter got addicted to Oxycontin from a legal script prescribed by a doctor for a fractured coccyx. She is struggling to overcome this insidious disease. It is considered a disease by the medical profession.

They can provided CPR & defibrillator responses to emergencies or give an epipen for allergic reactions or candy to a diabetic.... are these people's lives or medical conditions more deserving than an addict's, who is someone's son or daughter? When did we decide to choose who lives or dies?

Maybe we should shoot people who have drinking problems and drive drunk, putting innocent lives in danger! I'm not serious about shooting the drunks, but the point is how can any of you opt not to do what we can to save everyone we can?

Nasal narcan is easily administered as a nasal spray, 1/2 of a syringe in each nostril. It bonds more readily to the sensors of the brain than the opiates, thus, instantly negating the effect of the opiate! If nasal narcan is mistakenly administered to someone with no opiates in their system, there is no effect. It is harmless to the recipient. The is no worry about the "Good Samaritan Law"
