If seasonal beers come out too early, limited runs from the breweries, they tend to run out too early...especially the good ones! What a shame! :(
Conversely, if they are left on the shelf too long after the season changes, they might be hard to sell.
I can see why timing can be a tough issue for the brewers and distributors. Let's just not do the Wal-Mart thing---putting out Christmas stuff before Halloween! Ay-carumba!
