Dear Greta-
I have watched your show for years and find it interesting, honest and refreshing. I have never posted before but I just want to say thank you for your defense of the harsh and unfair attacks on sarah palin. I do not agree with Sarah Palin on many many political issues however I do agree that she is being unfairly attacked because she is a woman. I am grateful that you have pointed this out. I admire Sarah Palin on many levels for her strength and dignity despite attack after attack. You made me shout in agreement at the TV this afternoon when you called that male reported out on his comment that "perhaps she wanted to spend more time with her family" you were right on. I am sure she does want that but she also is a professional and I agree he would not have said that about a man. I am currently a professional woman who had a baby and have faced a lot of "comments" which my male counterparts with kids have not.
Thank you for your honest and refreshing reporting.
Brooke
I agree, Brooke. Greta was right on top of that comment. I, too, commend her. It was sexist regardless of what her male counterpart said.
I only hope that Sarah is planning to run either for the senate or for President. This country needs change and Sarah is the one who can deliver it. Obama talked change....but it's clear he's delivering the "same old same old' politics...Chicago style. It's clear why the Republicans and Democrats are afraid of here....she's not part of the inner Washington elite that will appoint the same usual suspects to the same usual positions. She would bring the changed we need to the political system.....she'd bring government back to the people....the way it was intended. Just as Diana was the "people's princess" and threatened the monarch....Sarah could be the "people's President"! Go Sarah!!!!
I'm not sure what to make of Gov. Palin's decision to resign, but I do think she does not make decisions without serious consideration. Her horizons have broadened so tremendously since the 2008 election that she must follow this new direction. Hopefully, she is preparing for a new political position on a national level. She is too valuable to our country to be solely focused on 1 state. She is the brightest star I have seen arise on the political scene in a very very long time. A little more time, a little more experience, a little more national and international knowledge and she will be an outstanding candidate on the likes of Ronald Reagan.
Sarah Palin is not a quitter, surely you know that. This classy lady is not finished fighting, she is just getting started. Listen to what she said in the interview, go back and listen.
Just wait and see, she's not perfect ,but she is one woman who stands
for many, many things that I believe in.
Watch her!!
In her speech, Sarah Palin said that as a target, people were hitting her with frivilous Ethics charges. She said it was not only a distraction, but had cost Alaskan taxpayers over half a million dollars, to date. She went on to say that the money spent fighting this would be better served when invested in Alaskan initiatives. She felt her exit would save the taxpayers those hundreds of thousands of dollars. So it isn't just the business interruption, it is the waste of taxpayer dollars. That does fit with who she is, and always has been.
I have a feeling she has only begun to fight, now that she is unschackled. Maybe she has a higher calling - taking tea parties to the next level! What a great mouthpiece that would be!
Sarah Palin is one class act she should be the President THAT clown that we have now is a joke. Go Sarah
I am a 55 year old woman, who has been a single Mom for over 20 years. I was a victim of Domestic Violence and then became President of Voices Against Family Violence, for years I taught and fought against all forms of abuse against women, yet after seeing what the media has done to Sarah Palin and the words from the women's groups regarding this treatment towards her family were very faint, SHAME ON US!! Whether one agrees with her political agenda or not, women will never break through that "glass ceiling" because we can't get over our differences.
Years ago I heard a story and used to tell it. A man and a woman were walking on the beach each had a bucket and they were gathering crabs, after a few minutes the man looked down at his bucket and it was empty, then he looked at the woman's and hers was full, and he asked her why is your bucket full and mine is empty, she calmly said that's easy, I ONLY PICK UP THE FEMALE CRABS, because when why tries to climb out the others will PULL HER BACK DOWN!!! Shame on us
Sarah Palin is a breath of fresh air. She represents many women who admire and love her. I also thank Greta for being on her side. Greta knows how important it was for her to have other women on her side. The obama dude can't even come up to her bootstraps. Besides its beginning to look like his honeymoon is over, thank God. All I have to say is go go Sarah. Please stay in the political arena for all us women. Just maybe she will run for Senator, Congresswoman or President. She won't give up the ship.
Mrs. Palin believes in "Country First". It was not, and is not, just a campain slogan for her. I listen to her speech today and admire her even more than I did during the campain. Greg Jarrett showed his lack of understanding of Gender rolls today. Men all over the airwaves are showing their true colors.
Sarah Palin is an honorable woman and a charismatic leader. She made a bold and gutsy move today, whatever her reason. Personally I believe she is putting Alaska first by stepping down. Whether or not she runs for president, rallies the base, campaigns for other republicans, or is a stay home mom, she will be successful. Sarah Palin is a fighter. Notice she did not say that she was resigning from politics... she said she was resigning as governor of Alaska. Big difference. The best is yet to come... hid and watch.
One way to find out, Greta. North to Alaska!!!! Got your ticket ready??? Only you can bring it to us fair and balanced.
Response to Lori: The taxpayers of Alaska have spent $2 million. Gov. Palin and her husband have over $500,000 in legal bills.
People, wake up! This is just another example of how "Big Brother" uses tactics as dirty as possible to hurt anyone who thinks "outside the box" as Gov Palin clearly does. Their goal is to make it so uncomfortable that no one of moral character will put themselves and their families in a position of running for any public office for fear of exactly what happened to Gov Palin; 'tho I don't think that's the reason for her resignation, it probably was a contributing factor
I feel that Sarah Palin has only begun to fight! She is a strong Lady, and pooh on the womens groups that failed to come to her aid.She don't need them. The dirty tactics are common place for the democrats, and I do believe they are afraid of what Sarah Palin represents, honesty, good moral standards that we all desire in a leader. She is a step above!! Go Sarah!! God Bless you!!
GO SARAH 2012!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sarah's star can only grow brighter and brighter. The "government media complex" has poisoned the earth's atmosphere--most probably the real cause of Gore's global warming.
The MSM and libs saw her as an immediate threat in '08 and went on a rampage against her. All that's done is set a huge "payback's a bitch" scenario. I believe she will make them look like the drooling dunces they are. . I'm sure that "She's not one of our club !!!" jumped up when she came upon the scene and they (Snooty Repubs and drooling Libs) will pay the price.
AMERICA DOES N O T NEED ANOTHER INEXPERIENCED PRESIDENT OR VP!
WAKE UP, AMERICA! DIDN'T WE LEARN A N Y T H I N G BY
ELECTING "UNKNOWN, INEXPERIENCED, NON- AMERICAN BARAK HUSSEIN OBAMA" !!! HE'S ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING AND OUT TO DESTROY AMERICA AND OUR FREEDOMS!
IT'S TIME FOR FOLKS TO STOP VOTING WITH THEIR "EMOTIONS" AND START VOTING LIKE THEY HAVE AT LEAST ""SOME" MEASURE OF A "LOGICALLY-THINKING" SOUND MIND THAT IS ABLE TO MAKE GOOD, SOLID CHOICES! IT'S NOT ROCKET SCIENCE!!! WAKE UP!!
Governor Palin is the only politician I take at face value. My work before I retired several years ago included being involved in policy issues that has to be dealt with in a political arena as well as the business world, and that meant dealing with politicians. All politicians have one thing in common--Their Number One Priority: Getting Re-elected, and everything they do is done with re-election in mind. All have been corrupted by power, some by money, some by sex. No so with Sara Palin--obviously. The media pundits and reporters just don't get this woman; consequently, they feel threatened by her and must destroy her if they can (after all she has five children so she can't be a good mother and a good governor). Even the men anchors on Fox yesterday afternoon didn't get it--continuously raising questions about her "real" reason for quitting, even suggesting a scandal lurking in the background. The arrogance of the press--including some Fox people like Shepherd Smith and Gregg Jarret--are hard to take, especially on Fox where news readers should understand their not-so-important roles and their company culture: You report. We decide.
Sarah has made a sacrifice of something she wanted badly, to be the governor of her beloved state of Alaska. She has stepped aside, leaving the state in the hands of her Lt. Gov. who is of like mind with her on policies. I think that she believes that for her to remain as governor will only continue to draw the frivolous and time- and money-wasting attacks of those on the left who fear her so much, and that this is not in the best interests of Alaska. She has also acted in the best interests of her family. She must get them out from under the huge debt they've incurred from fighting the lies, which must be fought. This is for her children's sake and future.
I think she has acted wisely and with the interests of her family and her state ahead of her own. I also think that she knows that this will leave her time her own, and she can proceed to speak out whenever and wherever she wants against the harmful policies that the current administration is enacting.
Will she run in 2012? I hope so, and will be firmly in her camp if she does.
But she's no quitter.
Bet she not going to just go away! The country needs her, at the end of Obama term we're not going to have enough money to pay attention!
PROBABLY NO ONE WAS EVER MORE ATTACKED POLITICALLY AS HAS BEEN SARAH PALIN FOR RUNNING FOR A PUBLIC OFFICE --- THE ATTACKS HAVE BEEN RELENTLESS, EVEN FROM THE FINGER-POINTING MCCAIN CAMP --- IT SHOWS WHAT A DANGER A CONSERVATIVE WOMAN FACES IN OUR NATIONAL POLITICS --- ONLY A "LYING LEFTY" LIKE HILLARY CAN SUCCEED IN TODAY'S POLITCAL WORLD!
For the love of God!! Has everyone in the media become so jaded that they can't trust or take anyone at their word?? Sarah said very clearly and plainly for everyone to understand, she will not stand by and let the state that she loves dearly be destroyed along with her. Why must everyone second guess and speculate what her "real" reasons are? Sarah has integrity and honesty that most in this country can't even comprehend. Why does there always have to be an underlying reason? I believe Sarah resigned for all the right reasons and those are the only reasons. Not some hidden agenda like preparing to run for pres. in 2012.
I remember another President that had to put up with sarcastic comments about his child. He also was not welcome into the Washington Who's Who and many in the congress and the senate despised him.. I speak of Harry S. Truman. The MSM treated him with anger and resentment. He is now #5 as the most beloved President of our United States.. Sarah Palin is made out of the same fabric as Truman. She will be back in what position I don't know, but she will be back and I am looking forward to that day.
Sarah Palin obviously is a threat to the left wing liberal dems and that is the main reason that keep trying to distract us with their unfair diatribe and attacks on her. Hint - it's not working!! I honestly believe that Sarah Palin resigned so that Alaska can focus on their own problems without the constant distractions about Sarah Palin and her lovely family. Anyone who has said such hateful, vile things about her precious child Trig should be extremely ashamed of themselves. I would rather have a folksy type like Sarah Palin in the White House than the charismatic, poor excuse for a leader that we have in office now!! Whatever Sarah Palin decides to do, she will do what is best for her family, her country, and with a lot of prayer. God bless her and her family today and always. Go Sarah --- stay in the proverbial ruby slippers because the liberal dems are frightened and they should be.
One more thing, just maybe if the left winged dems had bothered to find out more about their precious "potus" and asked the tough questions of him, we would not be in the "mess" we are in now.
Obama - an arrogant, self-serving, liberal left wing dem with a messianic complex
Joe Biden - now, if he only had a brain
Gibbs - more like Porky Pig --- bbbb ddd bbb dddd that's all folks!
Pelosi - the botox queen with a real attitude problem -- extremely foolish for taking on the CIA
Let's all do better next time around and vote these people out of office!
Whether Sarah Palin runs in 012 or not... makes no difference. She will be a POWERFUL voice nonetheless. Because of Sarah, we now know how honesty is vilified by those in DC. Because of Sarah, we now know how a loving mother who chose NOT rid herself of a touched child is vilified by those in DC, those so called liberal women. Because of Sarah, we now know how a mother in politics who chose NOT to ship off her pregnant daughter to some school but love her unconditionally, was vilified by those in DC. Because of Sarah we now know what betrayal lurks in those who are supposed to be on YOUR side. Because of Sarah, we now have hope that one day, we just might have an honest election, that a woman/mother will be recognized and NOT VILIFIED. I thank you, Sarah, for that hope and being the first step to opening America's eyes to all that is WRONG IN WASHINGTON RIGHT NOW
Dear Greta
I voted none of the above. I am truely heart broken as a woman and a mother. I honestly believe it is her children. I understand that politicians have thick skin. However, she is a MAMA first. Many people will not stop pickiing on her older child Bristol. It is HARD for us. We are not men. May be she will come back in DIRTY POLITICS when her children are older. Hillary Clinton did. Politics is a man's thing.
I am so proud of Sarah and will be behind her in the move she makes next. It is laughable watching the vultures soaring around her watching her every move so they can have her for dinner. She is not done yet and I am one happy American citizen who loves our country and am disgusted with what is going on. They ridicule everyone who fights for freedom and common sense. She is not a quitter and she is a cut above those washington greedy, self serving people we are saddled with now.
First thing I see, is the double standard inflicted on Todd and Sarah Palin and their daughter Bristol. If the son Track had gotten his girlfriend pregnant, it would not have been an issue. In other words, boys will be boys. But since it was their daughter that got pregnant, the press made a big deal out of it, some thinking that her daughter should have been on birth control, others I guess felt like that if Sarah Palin believes in abstinence, then her daughter should have been able to say "no". I think a lot of the liberal press think that reflects on Sarah and Todd's parental control over Bristol. It does not. Even ministers' daughters get pregnant. You can only tell them your opinion of what is proper behavior while dating, and then it is up to the teen to decide what to do in the heat of passion.
The other thing is, would there have been all the ethics investigations if Sarah had turned down John Mc Cain's invitation to be on the ticket. Of course not.
So clearly the investigations were trumped up to distract and disrupt Sarah Palin's ability to do her job as governor as she had before. Those behind all the investigations are surely rejoicing now.
But "stay tuned", as Sarah remarked yesterday. We may see more of her in the future.
I believe Sarah very carefully made her decision to resign as governor and she could care less what the political pundits are saying about her decision being a political mistake. She does what she thinks is best and not what is best for the republican party. She should ditch them after the way she has been treated by them. She is an independent thinker. Whether she runs for the Senate or President remains to be seen, but she has made a difference in politics. I wish her the very best and look forward to her next adventure.
There is a reason the term "lame duck" is used to describe a politician who is only riding out his/her term. They take up space in their office and collect taxpayer money without ever trying to accomplish anything. She is a doer not a watcher. She sees her country being burdened with out of control debt and loss of individual liberty. She knows she can do more out on the national scene speaking out against this socialist administration than sitting in Alaska just waiting for her term to expire, I say God be with you Sarah. You will always have my support in whatever you plan to do.
The country needs Sarah Palin more than her state. If this country survives these four obama years, I hope to see Sarah as president of the United States.
To Sal...great point my friend. Nice history lesson. If she runs in 2012...I would be Proud to call her Mrs. President..
SHORT WHITHOUT DETAILS;
The pseudo-letargic drawned by DECPETIONS, quasi-hypnotized ultra-obamanized community, are still in SHOCK for the latest dynamics regarding their most terrorizing factor - GOV SARAH PALIN ;....they think they won,..... really ?,....actually, are really more afraid of the situation for nobody seems to know or understand what is to come,... and the un-predictlable future is for them an inmense agony
.
However at this point they have to be, indeed, in even more terror than before for is a brand new ball game for them ,,,all of them , starting wiht their 'proagandist-in-chief', Obama, (although tagged as 'president....he-he-he). TIME will tell the story and the new story is not to be exactly quite apetizing for the traitors now at helm of our great country (THE OBAMA GANG CORRUPTED ANTI-CONSTITUTIONAL /ANTI-AMERICAN, TERRORIST FRIENDLY ORIENTED PRESENT ADMININSTRATION ),...they are going down ,... AND THEY KNOW THAT VERY WELL - THEIR DAYS OF ABUSE ARE COUNTING BACKWARDS.
Good day everyone,
Daniel Cabrera,
Merrillville,Indiana
Thank you Stargazer. That proves my point even more. It is a lot of wasteful money that she is trying to save the State.
Personally, I think she is going to run for the Senate.
I think Sarah Palin is a poor excuse for a politician. She clearly is way above her head. There is no way she will ever be able to run for President after quitting as Alaska Governor.
"And though it's honorable for countless others to leave their positions for a higher calling and without finishing a term, of course we know by now, for some reason a different standard applies for the decisions I make." -from Gov. Palin's remarks this weekend.
All I can think of who've quit mid office are Mark Foley and Nixon. I wouldn't call that honorable but that's just me. A quick look at Google (but it's slanted left) shows Gonzalez, DeLay, and Karl Rove. Rove I guess has gone on to a 'higher calling' there at Fox News with you, Greta.
Can somebody fill me in on Dems or Repubs who've quit midterm and what they've done afterward, honorable or otherwise?
Thanks.
Sarah Palin says what I always believed, she has had the voice to go public. It's about time somebody did.
I am hoping that she will be the uniting force that gives cohesion to the tea party movement. Although tremendous groups of people support, and even participate in the movement, her presence could be the spark that organizes and integrates it from a national level. She isn't afraid to speak out, and (love her, or hate her) she would have the ability to rally the people who are otherwise afraid to participate. It would also give her power and a pulpit. Arguably, she could do more "good" than as a Governor whose hands are tied.
I find it amusing that of all the blogs I read that only positive comments are on your site. Good editing, Greta. Sarah Palin is a bumbling idiot as proven by that rambling, nonsensical speech the other day. By the way, I am a registered Republican, but Fox is pushing me the other way with their "Fair and Balanced" newcasts. Fair and balanced for One party only. Not fair at all. I would bet that my comment will "disappear" as if by magic.
What does it take to get comments and questions posted on the blog. This format is no better than the last one. I have about 7 or 8 more blogs that accept comments from all sides whether they agree with them or not. It's a lot better when someone can answer back without having to wait an hour..or in Gretawire's case..never. bye bye
Don’t you get it, Palin is not a POLITICION. She has no intention of running for anything in 2010, or in 2012.
Palin is a PATRIOT. She’ll campaign for conservatives all over the country, and help us take our country back.
As an Alaskan, I see Sarah's move as brilliant. Now, her agenda can really be fulfilled by Sean Parnell without all the distractions of continual ridiculous ethics complaints and general harrassment by the whole liberal left. I also appreciate and completely believe that she is doing this for the benefit of our state. She is NOT a quitter, but a unique "out of the box" thinker. I see bigger things to come for her and all conservatives will reap the rewards! Go, Sarah!
This all goes to prove that people are so use to being lied to they don't know what to think of Sarah Palin. I believe that what you see is what you get with her. As she said this is NOT politics as usual and the Media doesn’t know what to think of someone with moral character and integrity. I just wish the Media and everyone else would stop trying to second guess her motive and just cover what she will do. It is obviously no one in the Media will ever understand her to be able to be one step ahead of her so they have to make up stuff to sensationalize "the story". I love that someone as simple as she is has got people all stirred up and more afraid their shadows than anything they have experience in the past.
Governor Palin made her reasons for stepping down very clear.
The multiple frivolous lawsuits and baseless charges made by those that have deliberately set out to hurt/destroy the Governor, and her family, have cost the taxpayers of Alaska millions of dollars.
The baseless and unfounded attacks against the Governor (all dismissed), and her family, have only increased since the presidential campaigns ended. That's millions of dollars MORE the taxpayers of Alaska would be WASTING to prove the Governor innocent of the never-ending baseless charges.
Palin has soundly beaten her foes at their "kill two birds with one stone" plan; "destroy Palin and her family" and "empty the coffers of Alaska". Stepping down from office leaves Alaska free to continue to prosper, grow, and remain the leader in American energy production. It won't be shelling out the millions Governor Palin's foes expected - because had she stayed in office, she would have been APPEASING her foes.
Now, Governor Palin has legal recourse of her own, as a private citizen, to hold those entities publishing slanderous and libelous stories about the Governor, and her family, financially responsible and accountable for their lies.
She is also free to be an amazing conservative leader in the nation, free from the restrictions the office of Governor legally imposed. Our nation is in deep and serious trouble. Sarah Palin is a strong, intelligent, and proven leader. Her fiscal revamping of Alaska has been wildly successful. She returned businesses to the private sector, stripping away unnecessary and overbearing government control, so those businesses could again thrive and provide employment - and they are.
No presidential bid for Palin this go-round. I believe she will seek and hold a major leadership role within the conservative movement. I don't want to say "Republican" because, well, that's changing, but the underlying principles of conservatism remain.
Taking on a presidential bid would be back-to-back trauma for the children. The press relish in debasing and ridiculing the Palin children in addition to the Governor and Todd.
But, taking on a flexible leadership role would expose the Governor to many people across the nation, able to promote, rally, and educate the thousands that turn out to see her wherever she goes.
That, and to save the people of Alaska the waste of their tax dollars on deliberately baseless and frivolous lawsuits and charges ridiculously brought against her which would continue, and most likely, ramp up even more closer to election season. As long as she is Governor, her hate-filled foes will continue, with deliberation and malicious intent, in their egregious attempts to personally destroy the Governor and her family while, at the same time, draining the coffers of Alaska.
The talking heads, MSM, and politicos just don't get it.
The everyday American does.
The MSM is working now in the realm of conjecture, speculation, fantasy, and, let's face it, hatred and fear.
WE certainly don't need the lying liberal press to tell us what to think - that's strictly a liberal need (they LOVE to parrot). I believe liberals will be confounded by the incredible swell of support for Governor Palin and the immediate success she will have, right out of the box.
The MSM really do sound as though they are filled with dread and all-consuming fear. So do the Dems. And, the far-too-many RINOs we all love to ignore do, too. And they should be very afraid. A Palin Tsunami, supported by millions of everyday Americans, is about to expose all their trickery, lies, subterfuge, and obfuscations and then will wash them all right down the political drain.
Go, Sarah, GO! I support you 100% and am ready and willing to help you in reaching the goals and visions you have for America, our great nation, because they are MY visions, too.
My political contributions will no longer go to the RNC - they will be going to SarahPAC (http
She believes the attacks on her are a distraction from the job and is not fair to Alaskans 31% (1,284 votes)
She can accomplish more if she is not limited by being a Governor 24% (998 votes)
These are the reasons for the resignation of Gov. Sarah Palin. She said this in her speech on July 3, 2009. This is the day she announced her independence. She love her God, Family and not just Alaskans but far government, energy resources God given. Her beautiful children and working with special needs children. Her trip to Kosovo was eye opening. If Americans could take a moment, JUST ONCE, and listen to her, you would find out that she eloquently made her choice. For all the hateful analyzing and journalists who if asked, and would give the truth for once, saw a woman who had no secrets when it comes to the great work and conservatism that is truly Sarah. She loves Reagan and she too wants more then anything less government, all the supplies our service men and women need, helping the families of special needs and she is obviously for the life. And liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Her roots and in this nations resources and she is a firm believing in tapping into this nations energies. So, the insults lashed out at her and the constant defending was the last straw. I love Sarah because she has given the woman a renewed confidence in the strengths and determination we all have within us. Thank you, Sarah and Greta, thank you for your unbiased interview.
Sarah Palin from all observaton is a very truthful and determined woman. I supported her for Vice President though I prefered her for President. I will be there for her in what ever she decides to do. ( I hope run for President) I am a man and I believe she is the best conservative choice among all the orther contenders.
Good by and good riddance, this woman is a light weight who craves the media attention. If she had been elected as vice president she would not have been able to stand the attention and would have pulled the same stunt, far easier to blame someone, anyone, for your problems and run than to stand and fight, go away, far, far away and please don't come back!
She is the one bright star in politics today. More than anything she is a real threat to the liberals we have running Washington. They don't anyone to mess with their profits or social lives at the taxpayers' expense.
Well said, Bond! and Lindsoe is right: Sarah is first and foremost, a PATRIOT. She is distinguished with the rare qualities of INTEGRITY, COMMON SENSE and WISDOM -- qualities which are sorely lacking these days, especially in our elected officials and career politicians. Sarah refuses to play "their game"; she's smart enough to realize that she can make a bigger difference outside of government, where her ammo against detractors, mudslingers and those who would weaken our country is much more powerful! Their heads are spinning with Sarah's decision to leave as governor -- it's so unconventional. Well, Sarah is, thank God, unconventional -- she's a breath of fresh air in a nation of polluted politics. Sarah is unconventionally not a career politician in the pocket of special interests. How many politicians can you name that are truly loyal to the best interests of their constituents and the American people? Well? Sarah shames the MSM and elitist "talking heads" by remaining true to the courage of her convictions, her family, and the country she loves, while refusing to tow a party line. She is an original and I'm grateful for that. I look forward to Sarah's continuing efforts to fight for common-sensical solutions to our country's woes and for freedom from tyranny. WE NEED MORE PATRIOTS LIKE SARAH! GO, SARAH! GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!!!
I voted that Gov. Palin stepped down because the lawsuits and distractions were unfair to the residents of Alaska. Nice to see that in an elected official. Notice that I did not call her a politician. She's not a politician. She's a public servant. I hope that Sarah Palin does whatever she wants to do. I wish that the media and those who fear her politically would STOP. They only show their own weakness. I do hope that Gov. Palin continues in politics.
I live in Alaska and am astonished at how effective Sarah has been at doing what the State needs vs what the special interests want.
Her stepping down will allow her more time to run for President.
She has a good head on her shoulders and is capable of making the right choices.
That is all that matters when people argue that she is inexperienced. I just hope there is a country to salvage after both democrats and republicans have spent us in a quagmire of debt. Go Sarah
I refuse to speculate because Sarah looked hurt and seemed to be in a lot of pain...almost on the verge of tears in her speech on Friday. I pray that whatever it is can be healed and mended. My prayers go out to her as she seems to really need them. I send her hugs.
I don't blame her for stepping down. She does not support all the money wasted on the noise created by those trying to test her ethics and her morale values. I am not sure why the media is putting their head in the sand about the money wasted to defend herselve. Is this expected? She is a threat to the liberals. I really don't think she will run for political office again. We will see her on the talk circuit and I suspect she will get her own conservative show.

Greta ,I didn't vote 4 neither one of the reasons... Sarah Palin made a choice to resign, the media needs to respect her decesions,..the media has treated this woman terrible, noone should ever be treated that way...I wonder who they will make fun of...My prayers is that God will Blessed the Sarah Palin's family..
I think Sarah Palin step down, so Alaska could continue to move forward.
I wish we had all honest Sarah Palin's in Washington, we sure wouldn't be in
the shape we are in now, OBAMA is not what the USA needs, he wants to rule the world not just USA. Sarah has got more honesty in her little finger than he has in his entire body.
Sarah, PLEASE DON'T LET US DOWN STAY IN POLITICS, WE NEED YOU IN WASHINGTON NOW MORE THAN EVER, MAYBE, THOSE REPUBLICANS THAT ARE AGAINST YOU WILL BE VOTED OUT WHEN THEIR TIME IS UP.
Palin’s Pain
Oh, you murderous one.
You have stoned her to death,
You murdered her with words,
Mightier than the sword-
Filthy as the sins in your heart.
Filth, you welcome in your life,
Through people, thought and word,
Who is your God? Or have you one?
Yes, filth, this is your God.
Your dark world brings destruction,
It murders children before their time,
It disrupts creation through same sex-marriage,
It pushes God out of our lives,
You push to govern our lives.
Oh, you murderous one,
May the stones you throw at her,
Come back at you,
Snuff you out, to saves lives,
Country and our God.

Sarah Palin is a very productive and positive person and I don't believe you can keep that kind of person bogged down very long. There are a lot of us who support Sarah Palin's goals - if you do not, no problem, but please do check her out every now and then and you will see how a natural leader leads. I know we are going to see her do something amazingly positive for our country. I would love to see her combine Alaska's abundant energy and her vast and incredible knowledge to meet one of our country's biggest challenges: ENERGY. She really can't do that as Governor because the negative has got her and her staff cut off in so many ways. If anyone wants to seriously (or even skeptically) check her knowledge out, you will find a brilliant problem-solver with a server's heart. Sometimes I think when some people cannot compete with principles or ideas like that of Ronald Reagan's or Sarah Palin's, that they resort to ridiculing their character. Before the election for President Reagan, he was ridiculed unmercifully by the media and then...he won by a landslide. I believe he won 49 States - correct me if I'm wrong. My husband and I used to say, "It looks like nobody wanted President Reagan except the people!" I wish people who have not given her a fair chance would seriously check out her accomplishments - our country needs people who can solve our serious problems.
no matter what Sarah chooses to do there are millions of us behind her all the way.
I believe Sarah Palin is one of our nations greatest assets! A woman who loves her Lord, her family, her state, her nation, and her belief that America needs change, but not the kind of change that is happening. The kind of change we are seeing now will eventually lead to the loss of many of our freedoms.
Sarah Palin has something that many leaders don't have, and that is the knowledge of motherhood. A good mother will always protect her family and we, as Americans, are part of her family and she would treat us a sibblings. A mother gives her best. A mother does without in order for her family to do better. To me, she is the best thing that could happen to our country, because she posses something that a man does not possess, love that will never fail for her sibblings. Even if she does not run for President, she has inspired many people to be better people.
The reason the opposition is attacking her is that they fear her because she is the "Real Thing" that America needs to continue to be the land of the free and the home of the brave. Americans had better wake up before it is too late, because if you look back at nations that have gone the direction we are going have not succeeded and many have not survived.
We need to get behind Sarah Palin and support her inorder to turn this disasterous direction around and do it soon before it is too late to turn back.
There are not but a very few "Statesmen" left and she is one of them, except she is a "Stateswoman." I am a man that has never supported a woman for President, but she is the exception. She can lead our Nation to great success, because she still remember the roots that made this nation a great successful nation. "One Nation, Under God!!!!!
Sarah, continue to stand TALL and don't change the thing that you believe in.
I have listened to the opinions of Newt, Gov. Huckabee etc and think that they would like her to fade away. I think they are being negative to further their own aspirations.
Gov. Palin has been attacked, not supported by her own party and made the butt of tasteless jokes and barbs. While this has certainly had to sting, I do not believe she would quit for those reasons.
We have to take her at her word. It was negatively impacting her ability to govern and costing the state money for the luxury of keeping her in office.
It shows integrity to withdraw from a job you love to better serve the public.
She said repeatedly in interviews that her family was tough and could take it and from all I could see, that was true.
Small minded people do not understand when someone takes a non-selfish, purely ethical stand. They just can't identify with it since they do not posess those lofty traits.
My response to Rick"
ahhhhh, how soon we forget.....OBAMA, left the senate! Why oh why isn't HE the quitter?
To me, a middle class, single parent of 2 and self employed accountant; Sarah's decision to stop the insanity of in 6 months spending $500 thousand of her own money and $2 million of Alaska's money (not to mention her salary for not being able to do the job she was elected to do) actually saved a lot of money. Her forward thinking (budgeting skill) helped her see that if the insanity continued her hard earned assets would ALL be gone and Alaska would waste another $6 million by the time she fulfilled 18 more months in office. The politicians and other people who are calling her a quitter obviously have no concept of how much money gets wasted every day. I have been making a list of those politicians to make sure they don't get my vote, left & right it only proves to me how we got into the mess we are in. Nobody is doing the math anymore, just like calling a candidate the winner before all the votes are counted. They look at a trend that they think will give them the numbers they want and multiply that, to get the outcome that best suits their agendas. It is obvious to me that Sara is not ruined enough yet and she actually did the math....along with a conscience about not getting her work done. Sara lives in my REAL world where 10 million dollars is worth saving. IT HAS TO START SOMEWHERE......lOOKS LIKE A GOOD CHOICE TO ME. What a concept:::If every politician saved 10 million dollars in a 2 year period by doing something so called a "gamble", "mistake", "shocking" or "stupid"..........you do the math! I wish someone in Washington or the press would.
I really believe that Sarah is preparing herself for 2012. She was smart in letting her Lt. Gov. get a chance to act as Gov before the next election. She is no quitter but she is being attacked by her own party and why because she is a WOMAN. It's a shame because none of the men who want to become president has a chance but they can't seem to get that. The only time that the people got excited was when Sarah came on the scene.
from Maine with love go sarah 2012 we need a real person in the whitehouse! u bet ya
I believe that Fox contributer Liz Trotta is fairly accurate in her assessment of Sarah Palin http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uvj-Xr0irhE
