The hypocrisy here is extraordinary. Sanford should do the honorable thing and resign. To hang on to his office is ridiculous and an insult to the State of SC and its people.
He should never have been Govenor in the first place. If he REALLY cared about the people of SC, he should do the honorable thing and resign.
Exactly what denomination of Christianity enshrines a chronic and habitual liar as the second coming of King David of Israel and then sets forth letting him keep his salary, perks, and political power as appropriate... ahem... punishment?
It is not our place to judge him. It is his wife's place and God's. I am not either of these people so I hope he stays in office. The people who want him out has complained that he disappered and they could not reach him in case of an emergency. If they cannot handle an emergency in a week, then how can they handle one that may come up in the next months and/or years.
