Whoever decided to use, 'socialized,' in the question guaranteed the responses would be overwhelmingly against. If you look at Medicaid and Medicare, which are both popular, even in the most conservative states, than you have conclude that 'socialist' programs are popular. Anyone who says that Medicare and Medicaid are not socialist programs does not know the definition of socialism.
WE DON'T NEED SOCIALIZED MEDICINE! At least not in the same way Canada and European countries have it. Yes it's time for healthcare for all citizens of this country. Add a flat 5 percent tax to every dollar earned, allow a private provider to manage the plan. The Government's role should be to see that the program gets funded, not to run it! Also TORT reform needs to be in place to protect medical professionals from crazy law suits.
