What do you think of Madoff’s sentence?

I think the Madoff sentence was silly. It was meant to be symbolic, I know, but look, this fellow has done a terrible thing and ought to be given a chance to redeem himself. Set him up in prison and let him start using his investment know how to earn back some of the money he lost for those poor investors. He should start paying back the poorest ones first and keep going till he dies. Of course he can't earn back all that he has cost his victims but at least he could make a good start. That would be a better use of his prison time than just having him sit around.
