Most of these people are required to be hooked up to the city water and sewer systems. Now when they fail the city and the bpw turn they're backs on the customers of their services.I wonder if the mayor had back ups and if he did, who's paying for his damages.

THAT'S WHY WE HAVE INSURANCE...IT'S NOT STANDARD ON A POLICY AND HAS TO BE ADD...IT'S NOT FLOOD INSURANCE...IF WATER ENTERS YOUR RESIDENCE BECAUSE OF BECAUSE OF POWER FAILURE IT'S COVERED...IF IT ENTERS THE RESIDENCE AS SURFACE WATER IE: WINDOW WELLS OR FAILURE OF A BASEMENT WALL IT FALLS UNDER THE GUYS OF FLOOD INSURANCE...

I live in Allegan and i had a sewer backup about 4 years ago and the city never flinched, they paid the plumbing bill and never complained about it.I grew up in Holland and it always had the feel of a city that makes their own rules obviously things havent changed much.

If power lines fell on your house and your house started on fire would the city pay for your house to be re-built? or would insurance. Water backups should be on your insurance for these purposes.
