What's been your reaction to Michael Jackson's death?

I'm obsessed. I've been reading every detail I can.

I've been listening to all his old albums

I'm actually feeling sad about Farrah Fawcett

I would have cared more 20 years ago

I couldn't care less

It is always sad when a popular star passes but there are other issues that lose there time in the media.
I rememgber when Soney Bono died. The morning news started with a story from Morroco where about 400 people died in a dawn massacer but then the anouncer anouncer said now to the top news story, Soney Boney runs into a tree and dies while skying.
There just aint no balance no more.

First off he wasnt skying, no airplane was involved. He was on snow, and was skiing. Second, "aint" really should be isn't. Third, he was actually a black person that did not hide behind labels, flags, slavery or any other social crutch looking for a government handout. He did something with his life and proved to the world, "i'm not going to spend my life being a color." He was more then "just" a pop star. His music gave inspiration and hope to the world.

King of the Pops????? Sorry Elvis still holds that title. No doubt Michael was a star and it is sad that with fame and fortune came those who would push him to work at such a pace that he, like the real King, was drugged and abused and pushed over the edge to his death. It's a sad comment on the whole entertainment industry.

I cannot understand how the media (and the people who read/watch it) can give such importance to one person who died.

Have we forgotten about all the millions (yes millions) of people who do not have proper housing or enough to eat every day?

Is Michael Jackson's story more important than real people with real needs?

To me, Jackson is not a worthy role model for our children -- I found him quite talented and rather cute when he was a child performer with his family. Unfortunately fame and probably drugs turned him into something I would definitely not have allowed my children fall under the influence of!
His passing is a non-event to me.

I'm old enough to remember Elvis passing with a simple statement on the radio "the king is dead" I was 5 at the time and I still remember the shock on my parents faces.

This is sort of the same, but at the same time different very mixed feeling clouded by the child aligations . He was a genius but like most people who excel at a certain part of life they have a distorted view as to what constitutes acceptable behavior in the other parts.

I don't think he did any wrong doing but it wasn't appropriate to share a room with a child not related to him

it is not the climate-change which presents a greatest danger to our planet, but rather the unbelievable fact, that great masses of people idolize "pure garbage". I find more pleasure in banging my garbage can lid against the garbage can, then listening to what todays world calls "art & music". But what the hell; it sells, does'n it? And that is todays reason for doing "anything", as long as it makes money.
Totally digusted...Horst Fritz KRUEGER
