We need the issues here at home dealt with first and foremost. Come together Americans let's quit this pet pampering and help our neighbors (you know the human ones), people are losing their jobs, becoming homeless, families are falling apart. Where's the love for each other?????

Wow! Here we go again! We have an opportunity to voice our opinion on an issue in which we have no solid facts-just what the news media in general feeds us. Often times propaganda only. I agree with the first respondant, that we need to address our issues here. I guess we could ALL agree on that, unless we have had a frontal lobotomy at some point. It's always interesting how many people vote in these polls, yet fail to explain their position! Bottom line, the average American has precious little to go on, in order to decide these matters. "I personally believe" (remember Miss South Carolina?!) that we should walk softly and carry a BIG stick (works for me). United we stand- divided we fall, and we would all have a lot more resources at the ready if we stopped dividing our country up into 2 groups--Democrats and Republicans (both groups largely clueless, though in different ways) We are Americans, and should support what is best for America. Maybe if the news media could report more accurately, and in more detail, a truthful accounting of reality, we would all be better able to make an informed decision on these complicated questions. I wonder if the reason so few of these voters state the reason for their position is because they really don't have any idea, but like to guess at things....

Yes, the United States should be supporting the people in Iran, but with Obama as President it's pretty apparent that the United States will do nothing. If you recall back in the 1980's we had a real President named Ronald Reagan. He stood up and took action, and do what was right. He didn't back down. It would be best for Obama to do the same. Although as we see from Obama, all he will do is back down. It's insanity in Iran. North Korea keeps testing missles. All these things will continue, because these evil countries know Obama is weak. It's a sad day for the United States.

These comments are fantastic! I like the "speak softly and carry a big stick" analogy. America should be the voice of reason, but if your country is not playing nicely there needs to be a consequence. Mr. Obama seems to be taking the society mentality of not wanting to offend anyone by saying what needs to be said. In this case he should be supportive to the Iranian citizens that do want a democracy. Dare I say help with a coup?
Mr. Reagan had faults as any president will, but one thing was certain, he always made America's position known and I believe we gained a lot of respect from the world and even from our foes. I am afraid that Mr. Obama will lull us to sleep with the passiveness and our foes will once again take advantage. We can never forget Pearl Harbor or 9/11. In both cases we were asleep and not on guard. America can never let her guard down!

I leave readers with this thought...
I am only one, but as one I can do something. If one becomes two we can do even more.
Self, family, neighborhood, community, city, state, country... If one or two become many just imagine what we can do for one another.

While I do feel bad about what is going on over there, they have made it very clear that they want us to step back and NOT interfere. Can you blame them? Iran is their OWN COUNTRY... they have their own politics and we need not think that we can just barge into any country we choose and take over. What if they started to do that to us?? We'd be mighty peeved. Let them work it out. Obama is doing the right thing, he is making it known that he doesn't agree with the horrible treatment of citizens, but we must take it day by day. We aren't wanted there... what do you all want? Another unnecessary war like Iraq?? We don't belong there either... and I pray and hope we learned from that huge mistake that we shouldn't go where we aren't welcome.

Take care of some of our issues first.
