YES--WHY NOT!!!!!
THE COVE IS MOSTLY COMMERCIAL NOW WITH THE HORNEY TOAD COMPLEX GROWING YEARLY.....
PREWITT HAS JUST AS MUCH RIGHT TO GROW AS THE HORNEY TOAD!!!!
as a resident of the area for 12 years, i feel i can speak with authority as to the consequence of zoning an area from residential to commercial. everyone will acknowledge the loud bands, heavy traffic and trash. what thay can't comprehend is the loud whine of sewage blowers, the odor of raw sewage, the illumination of the interior your home from hi-pressure sodium parking lot lights, the obnoxious view of a electronic flashing billboard and the vandalism by drunks from horny toad. for the people voting for commercialization of the area, it become apparent that they would like to come here and party and raise hell, and then go home to their peaceful neighborhood.
With the majority of six mile cove being commerical and Horny Toad being allowed to tear down several personal homes for their large business, it is only fare to let Shady Gator expand like Horny Toad did. The end of the point looks great for the first time instead of having horrible old buildings and weeds covering the whole point.
We need to remember that the Lake Of The Ozarks is also for vacations and entertainment and in this time we need all of this we can get to keep business at the lake open.
not a large fan of zoning . if a person owns the property then they should be able to say what is on their property or what they do on their property, after all it is their property, this should not be left up to a bunch of self-serving people that do not own the property and should have no say about it.
Prewitt built Shady Gators BEFORE getting the zoning changed-- that is wrong. He has been operating illegally, so he should not get the zonning change. He is trying to bully the county and residents with big lawsuits and thinks he is above the law. He will win because of his wealth and power.
There should be buffer zones between comercial and residential property and that point shouldn't have been developed in the first place.
Prewitt is already in trouble with DNR for sewage overflow into the water,
he is not a responsable developer in this case. The bottom line is money above all else-- Prewitt has plenty. The density around Toad cove is at it's limit already. Prewitt should not be rewarded for breaking the law, he should be punished.
