Being fair of skin the factor 25 is a resident in my rucksack all year round. The weather on the most recent Bank Holiday Monday was, as you will all remember (certainly in the north of England), all blue skies and sun. I applied the cream before my mates and I set off on a route that took us over Pike o'Blisco, Cold Pike and Crinkle Crags but the fatal yet common mistake was not to reapply at intervals during the day. Be wary if there is a breeze blowing, you don't feel the sun gently grilling your arms / legs / face / neck (wherever you leave exposed). It wasn't a bad case of sunburn but one I could have done without.

Living in Scotland we suffer from 'rust' - not sunburn. I have a very healthy glow caused by polishing up the rust on a regular basis using Guinness!!! Works wonders
