The employee's of the state of DE did not create the "Fiscal Shortfall".
Wreckless spending by the LEGISLATURE did.
Where are they being held accountable?

I agree there is a problem but the workers who have had no decision or choice in the way that the .Gov doles out hundreds of millions of dollars for their special or "Pet Projects" (see the Indian River Inlet project)
should not be forced to pay the massive shortfall by themselves.

If it has to be done, and obviously something must be done, it needs to start with the folks upstairs, then it needs to be across the board.

How much could we save if all the Legislators took a 50% pay cut?
How much work do they actually do anyway? They are very good at spending other people's money and money that we don't have, after all.

If we need to have an increase of the state tax, at least then everyone in the state will be paying a share or maybe we should have a sales tax so that everyone who comes to the state will pay a share, to fix the problem.

Either way, the State Employee's should not be burdened with fixing this, by themselves.

I realize some state employees don't do much work, but the ones at the Smyrna Home literally break their backs waiting on the patients. I don't think it's fair to the ones who really work. Cut out the slackers, then the paycut won't be necessary.

Hey state worker.....we voted for the people who did the reckless spending, so we are "all" accountable! Newsflash......In some way or another we are all taking a cut in pay right now. Why should you be any different? I agree that some state employee's work hard, however; "Reckless spending does go on in this state."... I watched 7 state workers clear a clogged drain.....one did the work while the other 6 watched, they had 2 trucks and 1 did the work. One gentleman never got out of his truck. Or how about the lady, in front of me at the gas station, going to work in a state vehicle, paying for her gas with a state of delaware gas card, I apparently pay for my gas to go to work and hers. These and many other ways to waste money go on everyday. Granted, wasted spending goes higher than the state run agencies, but unfortunatly we all know what runs downhill. Therfore; until someone figures out how to fix some of these issues we must all do our part to pay for it.
