It would make it easier to put on a business card IF i was using my FB for business or professional purposes (I try to keep mine neutral.)

Facebook always does whatever they want to do without asking and then braces for reaction if they even care. I like the idea of the vanity URLs. It's easier for everyone. But for those of us who have business fan pages, they're not doling out the usernames unless we have 1000 fans even if we have a smaller number of highly engaged fans and have advertised extensively. Yet any Tom, Dick or Mary with a profile page can get one.
Yes I think Vanity URLs are super important, so much so that I once spent 6 months writing a blog about what I called Well Designed URLs.
BTW, vanity URLs do not make more like MySpace, they make it more like Twitter. And that's a good thing.
