It comes down to Tiger and Michael. Federer doesn't have enough competition, Christiano hasn't been the best footballer for long enough and Cycling relies too much on supportive team mates who will let you win. They are all amazing but in my opinion Tiger gets the nod because he is the only one who plays an individual sport and will win every time if he brings his A game.

To Mike above: these are good points, but I think Fed does have enough competition. What about Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray and Novak D? Also, he beat Pete Sampras at Wimby at least once. And Fed has been in 15 of the last 16 grand slam finals. Has Tiger been in the top two of the last 15 golf majors?

No MMA athletes on here? They are the best conditioned athletes in the world. The don't simply have leg strength for cycling, precision for golf, they have the total package. I wrote in Fedor Emelienenko. The best pound for pound fighter in the world and the most dominant for almost 2 decades.
