For those of us seeking employment and NOT taking it as a negative position I think this would be a good word to use for us as a lead-in to everyone we will potentially speak with...

Thanks

Does this remind anyone else of the "CEO Bingo" app for iPhone? LOL.

Pat, the buttons are a fantastic idea. Can I borrow the idea for a NFP (Active 20-30) down the road?

my words aren't listed: hunting, searching, finding - these are descriptions of what I'm good at. Need to find that technical paper someone wrote in an obscure publication? How 'bout some statistical data from 1962 to compare to 1982 to compare to 1992, etc.? Or maybe you need to know which states require licensing of a particular business, and which ones don't. You see, I'm not good at 'feelings' and such - what I am good at is applying logical processes to developing a plan that I can follow to locate the information a business needs. So, I added hunting as my word :)

The biggest mistake we make when we consider the future( including the near future) is to extrapolate from the past to the future in a linear manner. There is much to be gained from studying black swans. Black swans are highly unlikely events that have a habit of occurring much more often than we might think.

Pat,
This is awesome!
I have invited my local Drupal Users Group to attend. Today I am sending a notice to the refreshindy and PHP group as well.
This is going to be great!
Thank you for your hard work!

I think the buttons might be better without the "ing" on each word. Thus the word would be larger and more open to various interpretations.
The buttons would make good conversation starters.

Buttons are a great idea. I agree with Linda, I would prefer leaving the "ing"off.

"Networking" Comes to my mind when I think about what I do. I think the buttons are a terrific idea and will modify this exercise for other groups I am networking with

My word is miracles - I am good at creating and finding them against all odds. I have a track record. The "ing" comment is good fodder. How about having button kits there and allowing people to put their own word on. They are inexpensive and do not require much preparation. Print up the words YOU want in the correct size circles and have some blanks for those who would prefer their own choice. People helping each other to "pop" the buttons together will begin many diverse conversations.

What a super idea! I can envision it being used in all kinds of contexts -- ice breakers, party games, spiritual retreats. Excellent! I might use this one at my next wine tasting as a good conversation starter -- maybe have the buttons be different kinds of wine and then ask people to explain why they are that wine!

LOL @John Blue

Pat- The BlogIndiana conference had buttons last year and attendees grabbed more than one and began referring to them as "FLAIR" (ala Office Space). =)

I think that Linda's idea is fabulous - having the blank buttons in proper circles there and available and letting people make their own. I would think that the "blank" circles --- along with some colored sharpies! --- would be great also.

Let me know if you need some help!
