Would you be willing to separate the lid from your disposable coffee cup and place in special containers for recycling or composting?

I've always wondered why coffee shops don't have recycle bins set up for their disposable coffee cups. It turns out the main problem is the lid - they need to be separated from the cup, and this appears to be too much bother. The lid can go to recycling. The cup is ending up on the ground or in landfill. We can use compostable cups, but again, the lid needs to be removed. We need to pressure companies to change to compostable cups and set up collection bins. Is it really too much to take the lid off for recycling? As the saying goes, "give a hoot, don't pollute!" We need to bring those commercials back!
