Do you treat your code differently when it'll be released as open source?

No. I do nothing differently.

Yes. Minor cosmetic changes, such as ensuring the comments are clear to someone else.

Yes, to some degree. Some code housecleaning so that nobody will snicker at my work.

Yes, in major ways. The awareness that others will look at my code changes what/how I write.

I'd never release my code as open source.
