  • After trying several places for breakfast (my favorite meal) we settled on Blue Plate. Wow, what a wonderful meal and never-ending coffee, fast service, lots of staff to serve you.

I pass by Edith Ann's every morning and had never noticed it until this poll. My husband and I visited this weekend and now I understand why people like the place. It is warm, friendly and the food is great. One of the local places that is usually a "local secret" This is definately not a fancy place, but the food is great.

My Mom & Dad's place has the best breakfast bagel in town! We love BREWBAKERS!

Blue Plate Cafe has the absolute best breakfast ever! The staff is so friendly, and your food is always hot, fresh, delicious, and timely. You always feel like family at the Blue Plate Cafe. It stays hopping all the time, and that assures you that the food is good and worth the wait!

We travel to Huntsville from Kansas often to visit our daughter. After trying several places for breakfast (my favorite meal) we settled on Blue Plate. Wow, what a wonderful meal and never-ending coffee, fast service, lots of staff to serve you. Just a wonderful down-home place to eat and with prices so reasonable you won't believe it. And Jerry is a hoot! My choice for Best Breakfast in Huntsville is Blue Plate. Bob

My favorite place for breakfast is certainly Blue Plate Cafe. They have an excellent "country breakfast," yummy French toast and tasty hashbrown casserole. But you really need to try their "chocolate gravy" over a buttery biscuit on Saturdays!
And for lunch, the fork-tender pot roast is AWESOME!!!!!

The Blue Plate Cafe is awesome for breakfast, get the Big Blue. You must try the cheesy hashbrowns with it . After reading all the posts, i feel i must try Edith Ann's, everyone is so loyal to them. I really like Cracker Barrel, but i would say Blue Plate is more than twice as good. I highly recommend it.

The "obsession" with Edith Ann's is easy to get when you go there. How many other places in town can you talk to the cook as he is making your meal. The staff is friendly, food is cooked to order (so it is always hot) and I have never had a plate that didnt have more food on it than I could eat. The value for the price and taste is truly the "Best in Huntsville" A couple of drawbacks are that it is small and often croweded and sometimes takes a minute to get your food, but since it is made to order, it is WORTH THE WAIT!

Meridian Street Cafe has the best homemade fried potatoes/gravy anywhere!!

Our choice for breakfast is Blue Plate -- hands down. We go every time we get the chance. Pecan pancakes and a fruit plate are my favorite . . . mmmmm.

Rolo's is a family place where the food is out of this world. His country ham is like grandma used to have. The biscuits and gravy are the old fashion kind that just sort of melt in your mouth. Your coffee cup is never empty and always hot.

If you were a regular at Edith Ann's you would 'get' the "obsession". Some of us don't have family, but going to Edith Ann's is like going home. And yup, there's a lot of stuffed monkeys. I've seen kids counting them. Kids love those monkeys

These polls have made me go out and try a few places that I have never tried before. Ate at Whitts BBQ today and WHOA!!! What Great BBQ they have and didnt even finish in the first 3 places.

Tomorrow I will try Blue Plate or Edith Ann's for Breakfast, Keep the polling up

Edith Ann's gets my vote for the best all around breakfast -- the food is concsistently great, they are good about cooking to order, the server's are friendly and attentive, and it is one of the few restaurants in town I have been to where the owner stops by to say hello and thank you for your patronage. Like many who go there I would like to keep it a secret -- it's small and often crowded.

  • Melissa - 15 years ago

No doubt! Edith Ann's and it is the 'Taste of Home"!!!

  • Mel - 15 years ago

I don't get the obsession with Edith Ann's. The people there are really nice, but the food is nothing to write home about and it's overpriced for what it is. Try Blue Plate's cheesy browns or their pancakes and you'll never go anywhere else for your breakfast fix!

Best comment so far is the one about ruining the "secret" of Edith Ann's. I'd hate to think it would change once it's "discovered" - but OH - the food! Edith Ann's by a mile!.

  • Beth - 15 years ago

Edith Ann's is DYNOMITE! There are Monkeys hanging out the staff is hard working, talented and dedicated. The food is hard to beat-I would eat the chicken salad every day if it was available......it is DIVINE! In fact, everything is really, really yummy. And the guy who owns the joint is sooooo handsome!

I really love the Southwestern Omelet. It's very tasty and I never go away dissatisfied. The service is really great and the Management and Servers are very friendly and courteous, and also it's very clean.

As a regular I HATE that people might find out about Edith Ann's BUT I want them to prosper so I'm giving them a big thumbs up. You can get breakfast all day long, and I LOVE their bacon& eggs! And you have GOT to try the French toast. It's soooo good.

  • BreakfastLover! - 15 years ago

Edith Ann's should be known as the home of the foot-long omelet. They hang off the plate, loaded with your favorites and reasonably priced.

  • Tracey - 15 years ago

'The Egg" as we call it is awesome. A huge variety of different dishes. I'm not the usual ham & egg person (vegetarian) but I can always find something to eat at The Egg. They have a bar too! Mimosas anyone???? :) Outside seating area...what more do you need?

  • Tom Walters - 15 years ago

Try one of Robert's "left-handed Western Omelets" at Brewbakers. IT'S THE BEST.

  • Joan - 15 years ago

The best breakfast place in town is ROLO's. The ham is outstanding, the bisquits are great, you have your choice of many great meals, the service is the best in town. you never have an empty drink cup or glass and the price is resonable.

  • Chad - 15 years ago

I agree with the comment above, the atmosphere is like Cheers (everyone knows your name when you come in the door) and the food is FANTASTIC! Try the Eggs Benedict they are absolutely the best in Huntsville.

  • Mary - 15 years ago

Edith Ann's Taste of Home Diner is great. Tasty breakfast, and the cook takes pride in his work. If you don't like it he'll fix it up for you, they won't let you leave unsatisfied.
This is not your typical diner! Everyone is friendly and dedicated to making you happy
