Who should play Captain America?

I would really like to see Jensen become more popular than he is. He is incredible and needs the opportunity to be cast in more movies. I think that he has been overlooked, and under rated!! Maybe put him in the Twilight saga somewhere, HE is so good looking it's amazing!!

I would like to see someone with a little more... Boy-next-door-ish quality to him as Captain America. He's supposed to be the 'All-America-Hero', right? So big names like DiCaprio, McConaughey and Pitt would make him seem... to Hollywood? I'd like to see someone like Nathan Fillion, who I see is not on this poll... He's got that kind of honest face I think the Cap'n would look best with. My problem with someone like Ackles is that he seems to.. rough, hardcore... Captain America should still seem like he believes the American dream, like he thinks he can fix the world; and when he thinks it, we should be made to believe it too.
I just don't see anybody on here who wouldn't seem either too battle hardened, like Ackles, or Walhberg, or too... commericial, like Tatum, and some of the bigger names.

Give me Fillion. Give me heart.

This is tough. As much as I would want to see more of Jensen on the big screen, I don't want to see him prancing around in a blue spandex, with biga$$ shield and with a big A on his forehead (which sadly doesn't stand for Ackles). Yes, I actually would be seeing MORE of him than with those 3 layers of shirts that he has on Supernatural. But, come on, these are very big shoes to fill in. This is not some masked computerized Spiderman/Hulk/Iron Man or hundreds times done Batman - we are talking Captain America! An icon of whole nation! And THAT is some serious pressure. And that's why I'm taking OTHER. Since I don't care, who it is - he just has to be believable, true to the character and have a solid story. Oh, and a good costume. :P

PS: Jensen in Twilight?! He kick their a$$ as it is. And not just with his looks, but his acting. BTW, Twilight is overrated. :)
PS2: I have read that Cap went from an average farm boy to a super soldier thanks to a some kind of serum (?) BUT it was done so that he could fight in the WW2. Even with his 'naive ideology', shouldn't he have some roughness during/after war? Who can come unscathed from something like that?

Jensen Ackles would be perfect! I love him in Smallville and he was great in Bloody Valentine too ^^ He's got beautiful strong figure and iconic features about him. And as I see many people agree with him, at 44%! =D Jensen Jensesn!!! He would totally be my Captain America ^_^

I meant Supernatural* LOL! But hey, he was in Smallville too for a bit! Where he was also great! ^^

Okay, yo dudes and duddettes. From reading all the other comments I have to say to anon that I know superheroes and all that suppose to be really jacked up and stuff but come on, cena is like over the top. He is WAY too jacked up. I agree with the most part with Mouse that big hollywood stars ain't gonna cut it. However, I don't think Nathan Fillion fits very well. To me, he's a very strong contender to play Hal Jordan in some Green Lantern film if that ever pops up (not that i'm hoping it should pop up. i prefer DC to stick with batman and superman). That's why I went with Jensen Ackle whom I first took notice when he was in smallville. He might be a bit too battle-harden but he's got the build and I think it's time for him to expand his horizon to a bigger audience. I vote Jensen!

Jensen, Jensen, Jensen. There is no other choice for Capt America, I've read the comics, of course seen pictures of him and I truely believe that Jensen would make an ideal Capt A. With so many of Americas male Actors being cast in everything at once like Channing, Brendan, Matt, Mark it would be hard to see them as Capt A because all you would see is Jason Bourne, Rick from the Mummy, step up bloke, and Max Pane, I mean wahlberg has 6 films comming out over the next 3 years!! And whilst handsome and blond Brad Pitt and Matthew McConaughey are too old and just don't look right!! An Actor that is known for good strong work such as Jensen Ackes is needed for a highly anticipated piece of Hero history such as Capt A. His past work shows how well he could make this Film, we just have to hope that the casting Directors of Capt A will go for quality, and not quantity of films made by prospectant Actors

It could be such a AMAZING film chain with Jensen on the screen, or it could be a male version of Cat woman, well have to , waight, see and hope!!

I picked "other" because you know who I think would fit the part really well? It would be Sam Worthington. He's in Terminator Salvation (2009) and I'd have to say he is a great actor and I can really see him as Captain America. I really hope he'd be considered if he is willing to take on the role. I know I would go see it.

I choose Neal McDonough Just for the fact that all of the other people listed are either too YOUNG (see: Jensen) or not physically right for the part. I think with a little hair dye, he would fit the part.

I believe it would be best if Matt Damon should play Captain America he's the only one I got in mind.
