1) There is now no incentive for companies to build the cars, as there is no infrastructure "in the works".
2) Bambi and Chu *do* realize that the problem with the Hindenburg was found to be the paint, and not the hydrogen, right?
larger forms of transportation should have been hydrogen. railroad systems that use fuels or coals should have been converted! oh well...
Hydrogen isn't fuel??? Frankly that just sounds ignorant. Hydrogen reacts exothermically with oxygen. That's a fuel. It's also the ONLY 100% clean fuel as its combustion product is pure water. It is also far safer than gasoline. Gasoline is toxic, a carcinogen and responsible for untold MILLIONS of burn injuries.
From the Shriners:
* Fires caused by gasoline are major sources of burns in the United States. On average, 1,270 children under the age of 5 are treated for burn injuries due to gasoline fires each year.
* Each year in the U.S., 1.1 million burn injuries are a result of gasoline fires. 4,500 people die from gasoline burn injuries and 10,000 people die from burn related infections.
* In one year, there are 4,700 gas fires in the United States.
* According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, each year on average, 1,270 children under age 5 were treated for burn injuries caused by gasoline fires.
* Teens ages 10-14 years old are the most likely group to get in trouble with gasoline and be treated for gasoline related burn injuries.
Hydrogen power is a fantasy. More research would be fine if the oil companies would pay for it plus all infrastructure costs. BMW ought to know better but then they are hiding any EV thinking since they chose to go down the wrong road as Bavarians have been known to do sometimes.........a little bit.
