Danny will experience what I believe is known as the Ryan Starr Effect from season 1. She was in the bottom two in Week Three and should have gone home but someone was eliminated in her place. The following week she was gone.

Hokey Gokey should have departed last night. But, alas....Gokey turns in the most horrid performance for a top 4 in Idol hsitory and he hears the judges actually compliment him on his past work. or say "I give you an A+ for effort" WHAT'S THAT ABOUT? Crap! IF you choose a song that's out of your comfort zone and you incinerate it--it's called FAILURE. He should have been called on it instead of been given a pass. They want a Gokey/Adam final--not sure why--since Gokey sucks and most of America is starting to realize it. The guy cannot leave his comfort zone. Vote for Gokey if you wnat anoterh Taylor Hicks. I am smiling from ear to ear.... Danny made the finals.... hahaha! I am sorry for the Allison fans... Kris should have gone home... he was the 'stinker' from Rock night. Allison will have a great career, though. And she got loose now, so she will be able to get started much sooner... : ) Good luck, Allison! Next week is a crap shoot... all three of those guys have a rather large fan base... so it will be a tough call as to who gets the two top spots. The problem is, Danny is the only one who has actually EARNED it... Adam can't sing unless he is in his upper register... (sounds like a douche when he even tries the lower keys) and I wouldn't call SCREAMING 'singing', any road!!

I was happy to see Adam on the final 3, but also a bit disappointed with the results. It seems to me that votes were based on popularity considerations rather than on pure artistic talent. I think that Alison Iraheta clearly delivered better than Gokey (or even Kris Allen). Unfortunately (for some reason that I cannot understand) some judges (and the audience) were too harsh on her. I cannot avoid thinking that Danny always receives a VIP treatment. Even if Simon compared Danny’s screech to a horror movie (I think this was a fair comment due to the simple facts), the judges were rather soft (praising the effort) in spite of Gokey’s poor performance (Simon promptly added that he though Danny would be safe). If Gokey voluntarily selected an ambitious song, there should be no “ex post facto” excuses that this was not his genre. Some other contestants have faced challenges and have overcome them. In few words, it was unfair to see Alison leaving. At least there is Adam. He has been the most interesting and talented contestant on the show. By the way, in spite of some criticism, I still believe that his rendition of “Ring of Fire” was superb!

Pissed. Off. I really don’t think there’s ever been a less deserving finalist than Gokey. Maybe dbag Blake but seriously, It takes a LOT to evoke anger from me but I have never felt so much hatred towards a contestant :X

UGH Danny’s attitude really, really REEKS. He’s the epitome of selfish and thinks so highly of himself that it makes me want to both puke and punch his smug face. & people were praising him for ’having a sense of humour’ about that scream? He was basking in the attention. The douche could talk about himself for f-n days. He thinks he’s godsent and hilarious. ”That was my funniest moment on Idol, that one note, just that one note, all eyes on me, I’m the bomb, I’ve never had a bad performance so that scream meant nothing when you consider how incredible I’ve been thus far. I never get this invested in this show but last night I couldn’t help it. I actually cried during’s Allison’s final song, that was one hell of a exit! Amazing girl. She really did not deserve to go home, it was all sorts of wrong. I really hope things work out for her. An Adam/Allison finale would have made AWESOME TV. We’re stuck with a DannyDouchebag finale and it’s just So. Damn. Depressing.

Wow... Fernando liked 'Ring of Fire'...('superb'????!!!!) downright scary. The song was made unrecognizable by the doofus that originally changed the arrangement on it (and no, that wasn't Adam, I know the term 'doofus' suits him as well). It's sacrilege to do that to ANY song, but most certainly to do that to a song that made history by a LEGENDARY COUNTRY STAR. It was disrespectful, tasteless, pitiful and embarrassing. When you 'cover' any song, it should at least have some of the original character and flavor. He truly should have gone home that week. And Fernando... the reason the judges were so 'easy' on Danny, is because he was consistently terrific, all the way through the competition, clear up to the moment of the scream at the end of 'Dream On'... they didn't come down too hard on him, because he's excellent 99.9 % of the time! He EARNED that praise, and he EARNED praise for the effort... it was his first 'failed attempt' since the beginning of the competition! As for the horror movie comment from Simon, it's only because they see the potential for Adam's sheer creepiness being able to sell albums that they have avoided referring to his entire stay on the show as one LONG horror movie.

Dee. You need to listen to his STUDIO versions of Ring Of Fire and Feeling Good - trust me. Then compare Whole Lotta Love to them or to Tracks Of My Tears and Mad World. THEN compare them to say Dust In The Wind (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xxA81F278Y). and Quiet Desperation (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxhBYQPBVAI). He's done electronica, folk, blues, classic rock, heavy metal, motown, opera, pop, funk, alt-rock, art-rock, glam rock, soft rock acoustic, jazz. He could do anything he wanted because he can actually sing almost every genre AND sound different.

The wail which people like me thrive on (LOVE IT!) are for his live performances, they're not in his recordings but I wish they were.

I LOVE Allisons voice. And I was sad to see her go and have that no-talent Kris stick around for the finale. When I first saw Danny, crying at a singing competition, because his wife had so recently passed away, I thought he was being a sappy ass, and I didn't like what I was seeing. I thought that he should have been in better control of his emotions in such a public venue. I felt as though he showed up there with his friend and they were going to sound like two giant buffoons. Then his friend sang and I was blown away. But when Danny sang, I was entranced by the sincerity, the power and the quality of the vocals. I wanted BOTH of them to make it. Danny got my attention the first time he ever sang... I followed him all the way through from auditions to Hollywood week and beyond. He amazed me week after week. Were some performances better than others? Sure! But mostly, he just hit every note, sang in tune, and with that sexy, raspy tone, he has what any woman would want in a male singer. I DON'T like his blocky, weird eyewear frames... and I preferred him without his glasses, because of that. He needs some more flattering frames. His body is awesome, the man can rock a pair of Levis better than most guys... he has a FINE backside, and he is so GENUINE, it's difficult not to like the guy. He has been seriously upset at the loss of most of his co-contestants, because it is clear that they matter to him. And he was SHOCKED to see that Adam had been in the bottom three rather than himself. He is the epitome of boy-next-door with looks, charm, and a singing voice that melts butter. If you really want Danny to lose, do not vote for Kris (I am with you, I like both Kris and Allison). Danny should have gone last night, not Allison. ANYWAY, in the end it will be Adam vs. HokeyGokey--so since Adam is stronger than Kris (Though I like both of them) he is America's only chance to beat sympathy-mongering, no-shame Danny. Adam can beat the DWP--but he needs your votes to do it. Consider this.

Since VFTW is supporting Danny, becasue he is the worst, he will be getting extra votes from that cohort. I cannot stomach Danny winning. I believe that Allison was eliminated because she shared fans with Adam, and after Adam’s near elimination people who believed that Adam should win and Allison should come in second no longer split their votes. It should have been Danny who was eliminated. Not only did he bomb musically he displayed the ugly side of his personality. One only has to look at how the duet partners treated each other. Creepy Gokey over sang his duet partner, he was all ego and had no sense of fair play, on the other hand Adam took Allison to his hair girl, she emerged the best she has ever looked, I would not be surprised if he also gave her some wardrobe tips. Adam was obviously enjoying the duet and did not attempt to overshadow Allison. For a man that owns the stage as Adam does it would have been easy. Adam no doubt had been very supportive and encouraging to her, as made obvious by the big spontaneous hug Allison gave Adam after their performance. Danny is an egotistical creep that tried to mimic Adam and fell flat on his face in his last performance. We must have been watching a different channel. Danny did give her a half hearted smile, but only after he looked to her and saw that she was already smiling, as if to let him know that she was okay. And then he hugged her!! Mind you, he was the ONLY one of the finalists that DID hug her, of his own volition, and he held her for several seconds in a full and caring embrace. ALLISON herself had to reach out to both Kris and Adam, because they never did... and then they offered her only perfunctory, insincere hugs in return. A short class on body language might prove helpful for any others that may have misconstrued that whole scene.

Actually, the other 2 contestants that HAVE earned the spot they are in, are Adam and Kris.
Adam has been making efforts every single week to raise his bar, 9 out of his 10 performances since the semi finals have been praised by all the judges and the media, and he, along with Kris, have been the only ones showing versatility at all.
Kris is not my cup of tea, but I do have a lot of respect an admiration for his talent and personality.
By the way, another proof that they have earned their places, are the iTunes sales, Google searches and Last.fm statistics. These are actually facts.

It’s really funny when we let our feelings and emotions interfere with our reasoning and we stop thinking. Well, from my point of view, we don’t win anything by attacking one to each other in this blog. We all have different opinions and we should respect them (even if we disagree with them), so one can love some contestants and the others just hate them (obviously, ones can hate their performances or their personalities). Having written this, I beg: Please make this site a nice place to read and predict who is gonna be the next American Idol.

And for those idiots that think he 'capitalized on a tragedy' i.e. the death of his wife, they were BOTH planning to attend the auditions. She believed whole heartedly that her husband is a talented vocal artist.. and she WANTED him to audition. He very nearly didn't... because he thought it would be too hard without her. But he chose instead to honor her memory by following through, even though it was initially a very difficult thing for him to do. (it would be more karaokesque if any) On this regard, I do not think that Adam Lambert was disrespectful (as you might suggest) or tasteless by performing – many weeks ago-Johnny Cash “Ring of Fire”, (probably inspired -I am not sure- by a version of Dilana Robicheaux). Actually, I like the original Cash version, but did not take any offense on Adams performance. It created controversy –indeed- and that is fine. Art does. Some people might enjoy Adams style- some other not. I believe that Lambert has showed a lot of talent, imagination, confidence and versatility. Finally, I did not suggest that Danny Gokey was a bad singer. Based on his last performance, I simply stated my belief that Alison did a much better musical job on Tuesday and consequently did not deserve to go. We just have to listen to the original Aerosmith “Dream On” (or even Michael John’s version last year for the same purpose). The flaws were obvious and were related to vocals. Yes, I CAN believe Danny didn't get kicked off after his FIRST bad performance all season long. EASILY!! And as for the judges giving him a 'pass'... it was only one foul note!! Understand, I think Allison is GREAT and she will go far. I was sorry to see her go, especially with Kris still there... when he really shouldn't be. But the JUDGES didn't decide Allison's fate. American voters did.

Although I hope Adam wins the competition because he is extremely talented, initially, also liked Danny because I thought he was a nice guy. Over the weeks, my opinion has changed. The other contestants all seem to like and respect Adam, and refer to him as the "camp counselor" and "big brother". Adam appears to be, from all accounts of those who know him, a sweet, kind, generous, good human being. He helps the other contestants whenever they ask. Both Lil and Matt stated that they "love" Adam, and when Matt was about to sing his final song, he looked to Adam for moral support. While Adam's appearance may create a less than favorable first impression with many people, he seems to have a beautiful heart.
On the other hand, the more I have seen of Danny, the less I think of him as a person. The other contestants body language speaks volumes. Kris looked very angry after the duet with Danny, who appeared to be trying to upstage him. They did not interact at all yesterday either. Danny's behavior with Allison over the "cake fight" was very inappropriate and made me uncomfortable to see a 29 yr old restraining a 16 yr old girl and holding her tight against him. Danny was also arrogant and unapologetic when presented with the "clean-up" bill. While I doubt the bill was $6,000, it was probably in the thousands of dollars and Danny took no responsiblity for his juvenile, destructive behavior. As for Danny hugging Allison, Allison did not reach out towards Danny like she did towards Kris and Adam. A reporter who was on the scene last night said that Allison twice "struck out" at Danny and it didn't appear to be playful. As a retired counselor, I am aware of body language and the other's actions reveal that Danny is not the "nice guy" he likes to portray. His arrogance has shown in many ways. He does not follow the mentor's suggestions, has the audacity to "clap" for himself, and was not a big enough person to admit that Adam was the performer he has been "studying." While I am sorry Danny's wife passed away, he does not deserve to win American Idol on the basis of sympathy. Allison should have been in the finals. She is a very talented singer with great stage presence. Kris is also a good singer and seems like a good guy. Adam is mega-talented and those who say he can't sing must have hearing problems. When the mentors and people in the music industry (including opera singers and voice coaches) say that Adam is extraordinarily gifted, it is delusional to assume that everyone else is wrong. That being said, it is understandable if Adam is not your "cup of tea". But attacking his vocal ability reeks of jealousy and spite. Danny's "scream" should have made people aware of how difficult it is to do what Adam does with his voice. In all fairness to Danny, while his behavior Tuesday night caused me to have even less respect for him, his ability to laugh at himself did redeem him slightly in my eyes.

Gee, KRIS, you all but called Danny a pedophile there. You seemed to be completely unaware that everyone participated in the cake fight, and the fun was being equally shared by everyone in the room. Out of that, all you saw was 'a 29 year old man holding a 16 year old girl close to himself'. That's a pretty bold and sick accusation... but then I guess we often see only what we want to see. He did try to restrain her, but only to prevent her from getting any more cake hits in. He has NEVER clapped for himself, not one time. I have seen him on more than one occasion, clap BACK at the audience, as in, 'if it weren't for you, I'd have no reason to be here'... and MANY of the talent greats have done similar things when the applause is roaring through the building. It's a 'thank you' in response to their enthusiasm... nothing more. And it speaks volumes of his humble nature. But again, interesting that you (and a few others) saw it as him applauding himself...
Adam is NOT 'mega-talented', by any stretch of the imagination. He's truly a one trick pony with a very limited upper range, upon which his delivery method is to tach it out as far as it will go and call it talent. But... that's my opinion. So, back to your thoughts on Danny.... there hasn't been one person that isn't a Gokey detractor, that has said anything at all about sympathy for his wife being the reason he would ever deserve to win this competition. In my opinion, it is both lame and disrespectful of both his wife and himself for you or anyone else to even suggest that it has anything to do with this. And how can you say he doesn't follow the mentors suggestions??? He does that every week! And often he shouldn't have... as it has gotten him in to a rather weird area a few times. In contrats, Slash told Adam point blank, 'Stay out of your upper register, this isn't the kind of song for it'.. and that was the first place Adam went when he got on stage. Why? Because it's all he knows. I had similar feelings wacthing the so-called "cake fight" between the teen and the 29 year old man. It was as if Danny did not understand ior repsect boundaries. I don't think he was trying to "cop a feel" or grope her, it was just inapproriate and uncomfortable to watch. I know from talking with others and reading other blogs and boards, that this is a common opinion. It was odd how he held her at one point under the rib cage. Creepy. I don't think he is a pervert--but he should have known better. If he were closer to her age, perhaps the "cake fight" would not have elicited the same negative reactions from some viewers.

It doesn't matter, Keiley. 'Obsessed' isn't the correct word for my situation. Through no fault of my own, I am very recently house-bound, and therefore have too much time to spend with things like this. But 'obsession' is not a part of it. We agree on the fact that the judges have a lot of influence... more than they should have at times. But then again, since Adam is their 'god'... then how did he wind up in the bottom two last week if they have so much pull? That said, while I think Danny is the better talent in this season... he has had some gargantuan competition to go up against, in Allison and even a few others. Adam doesn't really count in this, because as I said in another post, he's been groomed to win, and he likely will. As for the cake fight, I think everyone got 'caught up in the moment', but I still feel as though what Danny did was in no way inappropriate or 'creepy' as you put it. But those whose minds are in need of a good flush would think so. It's too bad. Danny has barely been in the spotlight for four months, and already there are enough character assassins out there to sink a battleship. Adam whores himself out willingly and lets people photograph it, and that's just fine, because he's just a gay guy being a gay guy... but Danny horses around a little in a cake fight with someone younger than he is and suddenly he's a 'creep'... real nice work, Keiley.

Actually, I don't care who'll win the American Idol, I can't vote either since I'm not living in US, but I definitely know for sure whose CD I will buy (if the album distribute to my country..). The real competition will began after AI finish. There's no positive correlation between winning AI and successful recording artist. So, winning this competition is not everything. Music is about taste.

By the way, I just wondering if Adam was in AI season 7, what would he sing in Mariah Carey week? I think he'd realized that rock is not his music, and he'd find out that Mariah's song will fit him with his screaming voice.. :D

Wow--I certainly don't remember using the word "pervert" ever. What I said is Danny restraining Allison against him made me "uncomfortable"--which it did. As Keiley pointed out, it shows a lack of boundaries--it was a control/power move. People who have had interactions with Danny have referred to him as "controlling", which I can see after watching his behavior.
And no, not all of them did get involved in the food fight. If I ever started something like that, I would have cleaned up the mess I made, and not leave it to others. Didn't impress me that Danny thought cleaning up wasn't his problem or that he should be held responsible in any way for the clean-up. Someone like Adam who helps his competitors with their songs is a class act in my book. Someone like Danny who "borrows" from another competitor and doesn't give credit where credit is due is not acting with class.

I appreciate the efforts on the whole 'fantard' deal, Keiley. Then maybe in a few years you can call me Grim. Most people shorten my handle to Grim or Grimmy. And since you have taken a step forward with the olive branch, you should know, I have noticed Danny's shortcomings... I have. I choose not to make such a big deal out of a few stray notes or pitch problems here and there. Many variables come together in weeks and weeks of singing, training, practicing, etc. There are a lot of things to consider... such as nervousness. I sometimes think the audience forgets that these were just every day people like you and me five months ago... and during the course of this show, they have all had to 'build a new career' right under our noses. I don't care how good you are at what you do, it has got to take its toll on the nerves. Everyone in the competition has dealt with it at one time or another. The ones that really get torn up over it find themselves getting torn apart by the judges. The good news is, there is plenty of fame to go around. Everyone in the top ten will get a slice of the pie... some will just get a larger piece. For example, I felt that Scott, the blind guy, was really just taking up a space that should have belonged to someone far more talented. He sings, but not all that well. It's generally believed that for PC reasons, due to his handicap, he was put through. I have no idea. I just know that he took the space of people far more talented and it should never have happened. Same with that tweak-fest Megan. She was a right mess. But she took a spot from a talented person. It wasn't her voice... it was what she chose to do with it... just very bad. As for your telling people that there are funny things to see on VFTW, that was pretty uncool. But I don't know why I expected you to do all your growing in just a matter of minutes.

KRISLOVER: You're SO off the mark with your comments about Danny... it's like using a spray-gun to take care of an ant problem. You just spew a bunch of crap and hope some of it sticks. Grimoire13 and Anabelle- But I'm so embarassed right now. The reason is that they had Danny live on tv this morning and he said that there are a lot of cruel mean people in this world. He reads the forums and read a lot of negative things about him. His response to that was ( and I admire him even more now ) is that he doesn't let that bother him cause if it did that means that they won with the mean comments and instead he won by moving on and ignoring it. But it's so sad that he has to read all these lies and bad calling names that the morans do. But all the fans that gathered in Milw., Wi. today, well let's just say that there were thousands of people that came and move rolling in showing how much they love him and support him.

Bazooka, I'm glad that Danny is able to look past these insensitive remarks that are being made about him, here and other places. And I knew he would be. But it has to be painful having such vicious things said about you. The best part is, he has a LOT of fans, a huge fan base, and a lot of people that are backing his path to success.

Moonstruk: This is where our opinions differ. I LIKE Danny's style, so I don't feel as you do, that he has been 'holding back'. I have very much enjoyed his performances on the show. By 'what he wants to do', I mean the style of music that he enjoys singing. We have already established the fact that he is doing well with his fan base... as are Kris and Adam and Allison. But not being tied to a contractural agreement to make a certain type of album (and yes, the show producers have a fairly nasty influence over that) is helpful. Once free of the remaining contract obligations, as with the tour, for example... they can put together a band of their choice and make the kind of music they want to. In fact, I would bet Danny already has a place reserved for his friend that didn't make it past the Hollywood round.

Wow the forum got worse today then it was yesterday... Glad I wasn't home all day cause I got to see Danny at Summerfest in Milw. OMG but was he ever awesome out there. And the count for the people that came to see him were 26,000. I mean the place was packed with all his fans. So nobody can't tell me that he doesn't have a BIG fan base. He was just terrific to everyone and a gentlemen at all times.

I just want to say the Danny was my favorite for a while in the competition, probably up until the top 9. Then Adam picked up speed and has never stopped. I think Danny has a great voice, he just does not utilize it the right way. Adam has an incredible voice and utilizes it in every way thinkable. Listen to his performance on Youtube of him singing The Star Spangled Banner yesterday...incredible! And grimoire13...PLEASE, just lay off the Adam hate. Ignore people ragging on Danny, he doesn't deserve it, but NEITHER do either of the other contestants.

By the way, sorry for any typos before...I can be pretty lazy at fixing those errors ;]

QuietStorm: Well, when I first came in here, I had read some pretty shockiing things about Danny... all from Adam-lovers. I find it inexcusable that they are saying things about him trying to 'use sympathy to get votes'... or that he 'applauds himself', when he is clearly applauding his FANS, not himself!! It is a widely accepted practice among artists that appreciate their fans, to applaud them in return for the admiration and support they have shown. And the DOLTS that think he is clapping for himself are brainless and immature. I had read a lot of that before I came in here and I was just trying to make a point. People seemed to think I was actually 'angry'... when I was mostly just shocked, so I knew my 'tone' was being misinterpreted. G: Wiktionary was an after thought to correct English. It was brought in to being, partly because of the onset of texting and the need to shorten words in order to accommodate the texting format. You'll notice I don't write 'u r' when I am trying to say 'you are'. I tend to type most things out. I am not a fan of the lazy mans English... so Wiktionary is not a source I would normally use to locate a definition. I realize Wktionary prints all meanings and not just the new bastardized versions of words, but I concede that they have probably included that goofy shorter version of 'spelled'.. wow.. I could have saved myself from typing out two whole letters!

Grimoire13 and Anabelle- Did have a lot of fun yesterday visiting Danny at the mini concert but it was hard to see much of him since there were 26,000 fans or more out there. I got little glimpses of him at least. To answer your question Anabelle about what songs he sang and one of them sure wasn't Dreams...haha... but he sang Get Ready, September, I Heard It Through The Grapevine, and PYT. I think that was all of them. Oh and Rick Springfield came on stage to greet Danny. It was fun but too many people.

Each contest owns certain groups of fans. For the "gay/lesbian" group that watch American Idol, I'd say the majority may prefer Adam, but they don't base their opinion off of just that, they can just relate to him better. Also, don't you think Danny has won over an overwhelming amount of Christian votes. You should see what Danny fans have posted on Adam's youtube videos. They post random passages from the Bible...and it's all a little ridiculous. Like Adam said in an interview they're "here to sing, nothing else".

BAZOOKA: If it were not for you and your trip out to see Danny, there are a lot of things about his homecoming trip that we may never have gotten to hear about. Thank you for sharing all of it. I would imagine this entire ordeal has been difficult and tiring to all of the contestants, for many, many weeks now. But I'm betting they are all taking home a ton of great memories that will last them for their entire lives.

I agree with Julie that the top 4 will probably all get record deals anyway. I mean, Chris D. has to be the most commercially succesful Idol contestant (matched only by Carrie U.), and he was 4th place. Taylor Hicks won that year and he was out of a recording contract in 12 months. He is not at all popular. So winning is not everything. I am offended by some of the Danny and Adam bashers here. There seems to be a large focus on rumor and inuendo with Adam and people falsely saying he can't sing, or he only screams (grimoire13 and her inflammatory comments come to mind) . With Danny, there are sickening statements about his wife's death which I cannot even go into, and too numerous to detail, but very inappropriate in content to say the least!

Let's all relax and be civil please. I would like to see Adam win, but I would be very happy with Danny too! They both have very large fan bases which says a lot!

I support Danny Gokey in the finals. I heard his rendition of the National Anthem for the first time today. I can tell you that I have heard this song sung by MANY people... and no one has ever done a better job of it than Danny did. However, in an effort to bring some fairness to my opinions, I also decided to review the videos of the American Idol performances of both Danny and Adam. It completely confirmed my convictions that Danny Gokey is far and away the better talent of the two. Danny has a considerably more powerful and diversified range. Although he can't effectively hit ultra high notes, he has no trouble with a huge array of low, medium and slightly higher ranges. ( A good example of this was the notorious 'trouble spot' in the anthem, that begins: 'and the rockets red glare', which he mastered beautifully) I reviewed the songs Adam sang and he never seems to be comfortable singing anything in a range much beneath the more feminine, high soprano notes. All throughout 'Track of My Tears' he never leaves his upper range. In fact, Linda Ronstadt's version has decidedly more baritone smoothness than Adam's hig-pitched version. I have concluded that besides being forced to view the inside of Adams throat and that absurd 'tongue move' every week while he invariably screams somewhere along the line, the reason I prefer Danny to Adam is that I like for male singers to sound masculine, as opposed to feminine... a feat that Adam has yet to manage.

NICHOLAS: Okay... I listened to it. The first few words of the song were pretty wobbly, while he tried to get his 'low-range legs'. But it shifted in to the soprano mode pretty quickly. I think we just have to face the fact that I am not a fan of Adams style. It's not that I haven't given him a chance... he's just not my idea of 'good music'. NIE: Yes.. you're right.. instead of this being a fan-based blog for the fans of the contestants on the show, I have become the unwilling center of attention here because of the way I express my opinions, or because I choose to respond to remarks made by the other fans. It doesn't make any sense to me either, but there it is. For the record, I liked a lot of the music that was performed by several of the contestants, not just Danny and Allison. But in my opinion, (and again, it is JUST an opinion) Danny has done the best on the show. And if you truly are just wishing he would go home just because of his fans, then it is YOU that is doing him a disservice here, not myself. I find it interesting and compelling that you see me as 'larger than life'... but still, your wishing him ill will because I show enthusiasm for his vocal style seems more than a little odd to me. Using that logic, it seems you would be wishing the same for all the contestants, for they all have some 'larger than life' fans. As for my injury keeping me stuck in the house, I can't drive a vehicle right now, so four or five times a week, my friends either come over and hang out or they come and get me to go with them. My job usually involves a lot of driving, but I am now instead working from home on some other assignments. A written release from the doctor will permit me to go back to my normal routine. It's really not all that complicated.

thanks Grimoire13, i agree with what you said, about what happened with ruben, tayor, and fantasia, and it IS hapening again with adam. i just can't believe how the judges, even simon are so awstruck with adam's performances week after week, and especially after they were soo harsh on lil every week for "not being herself". i felt so bad for her, that each week she would get criticized, when i thought she was being completely herself, who do they think she was trying to be? just because she was one of the more "average" contestants, and didn't have anythig that really stuck out besides her unique name. i mean, you don't have to be as different as adam to be considered "great" in the judges eyes!

AITO1WTT: The judges were unmerciful with Lil. She had some rough moments, like all new contestants do. But she has a very strong voice and she rocked a lot of them quite well. I'm not sure why they kept singling her out that way, but it wasn't fair and she deserved a lot better remarks from them. I liked some of the work that Anoop did too, although I never thought he had the 'star quality' some of the others possess. I can honestly say I never enjoyed any of Scott's performances. He always seemed to be off-key and somehow 'forced'... I can't really explain it. I thought Megan was from another planet... the weird way she sang in that stilted, bizzarro fashion. What a waste of such strong vocal power. Matt had some pretty awesome moments, too. There for a while, I wondered if he wouldn't go a lot farther with this. Danny just hung in there, week after week after week. Turning out one excellent performance after another. And his audition with 'Heard It Through The Grapevine', just rocked my world during the early stages of the competition this year. He hasn't let me down all season.

Adam Lambert is loaded with talent!!! On top of that, he's a very nice guy who's easy on the eyes! His performances are electrifying, exciting, entertaining, excellent!!! Each week, I'm eager to see and hear Adam. He has charisma and charm and is today's Elvis Presley (but is still his 'own' man)! Adam is the best singer and all-around entertainer ever to appear on American Idol! I'm so glad he's one of the Top 3! I don't see how Adam can lose. He's head and shoulders over the other two! Wow! Danny is the one who is judge-pimped! With his abominable rendition of "Dream On' receiving really no negative remarks from the juidges--Randy and Paula giving him an "A" for effort after he sucked more than any other top 10 in Idol history--never mind a top 4! So, Adam is perfect--what are the judges supposed to say--"Wow--that was slightly imperfect". When he is head and shoulders above everyone else consistently, it is hard for the judges to be critical. Danny is really pimped the most by the judges. He should not have been given a pass last week for that really inferior performace. He is destined to become TAYLOR HICKS II!

you know nothing about music. Danny's version of "Dream On" was not very good--EVER. It was terrible. Before the disasterous note, it was mediocre at best: out of tune and off-pitch. the entire song was awful and you are blinded by your devotion to somebody you never met--a TV personality! On the other hand, Ring of Fire, stylistically, may not have been your cup of tea, but it was sung in tune and was pitch-perfect. What the fu** is your musical background anyway? You have your OPINION and it is based on nothing. I studied piano for 14 years and had 6 years of music theory--two while in college. While I am not a professional musician, I think I do have some knowledge in this area and I am able to look at this a little more objectively.

Jamie Foxx, who also knows a little something about music, was blown away by what Adam did with Feeling Good, and professionals throughout the music industry are abuzz about Adam's incredible talent. Look also at the media coverage he's getting. The reason for that is that he has caught fire with the American public who have been incredibly excited by his performances. I understand you don't feel an obligation to whether or not you are doing a disservice to Danny, by simply wishing he would lose because of what his fans are doing. Fans of any contestant can be annoying and irritating, but the celebrity should not have to take ownership of that stupidity on their behalf. I find a lot of the Adam fans to be irritating and annoying. But I don't base my feelings about his vocals on THEIR BEHAVIOR. I'm saying that we should be able to separate the fans from the star. Danny Gokey is my favorite. I'm drawn to his incredible vocal articulations and dynamic range. He has a vocal 'edge' that's just ferocious and catchy if you really listen. Adam has incredible upper notes and shrill overtones that are really cool! Adam also has pleasing middle register tone and expression. Kris has an obvious zeal for music, with nice vocals and energetic instrumentals. What I like about this contest is that it brings music into the spotlight and gives the public an active role in music appreciation. I'm a music teacher BTW...

I'm hoping that Danny will win and get the recording contract and a big monetary boost right away. I definitely prefer his vocal style. In the end they will all be winners in my book. Wow... the desperation is palpable. I realize that there is a jackass loose on the board trying to get everyone else to believe that 'Trebor', 'WildCat' and Grimoire13 are one and the same. I agree with Grimoire13. I can't stand the way Adam screams not in most of his songs but all of them. It's okay to do that once in awhile to certain songs but not everyone of them. And yes I think he really did a bad job on Crying by Aerosmith. I love that song and he ruined it. Sorry Adam fans but he just wasn't good last night.

You have to be an absolute tone deaf moron to think that Kris deserves to go to the finale. Adam, Danny...and Kris? The guy is a great artist and a very good singer, but he's out of his league now. Let's not forget that Allison was flat out robbed last week - with THOSE 3 we would have had a serious competition. Regardless, it's been obvious since the top 12 who the final 2 should be. QUIETSTORM AND SARAH: I understand... and agree.. to a point. Because this is a singing competition, I think it is fine to discuss the pros and cons of the vocals of these guys. I DON'T think it is okay to discuss their religious preference, sexual preference, personal tragedy, family matters, relationship issues, political stance, physical attributes, or anything at all to do with things that fall outside the realm of voice and singing ability. By joining a competition that involves votes from the general public, the contestants have given their permission to let whomever hears their voice, make a decision and have discussions about their performances. By saying how I feel about ANY of the performances, I am not violation their personal business, or crossing any lines regarding the 'say something nice or not at all' rule. If it was bad, it was BAD. If it was good, it was GOOD, strictly from an OPINION-based line of thought. And Sarah... it wasn't any 'nicer' of you to imply that some of us are too thick between the ears to grasp the 'kindergarten rule'. It simply does not apply when discussing something that was MEANT to be discussed publicly and then voted upon.

Grimoire, I agree with your reasoning, as long as the discussion or opinion doesn' t turn hurtful or right down rude. To say that you think Adam screams too much and he needs to tone it down, is a constructive statement that would help Adam without any offense taken. But to say he sounds like a girl rubs very close to sounding like a sexual inuendo aimed at his sexual identity, whether it was intended that way or not, and is a negative comment that would hurt. To say he "stunk" is rude and carries no constructive comment on why, and how he could improve himself, therefore that is hurtful. I hope you can see what I am trying to say! A little tact and forethought won't ruffle as many feathers!

It should not matter what Adam's sexual orientation may be. But, apparently it does to some people. He is talented and that is why he has my support.

QUIETSTORM: That's just it... Adam's sexual orientation has absolutely SQUAT to do with this. It's no one's business but his!! I have a couple of guy friends (they don't know each other, they live in different areas). Both of them are as heterosexual as they can possibly be... but for one thing. Effeminate voice and mannerisms. One of them, his speaking/singing voice (although nothing that will ever make him rich) is strong, but woman-like. He's not a gay man, he's straight. But he KNOWS his voice is high, no one needs to tell him that. The other guy is 'macho' enough for the most part, but has some very strange, female-like tendencies, mannerisms and gestures. His voice is very, very masculine. I've known him since we were children. He's straight as straight can be, except for those odd, feminine mannerisms. For you to say that I am 'implying' anything by stating the obvious, that Adam has a high-pitched voice, isn't even a little bit fair. You are arbitrarily adding a WHOLE lot to what I said... things I never meant, at all. Please stop inferring things I never said or 'implied'. This is why this 'debate' has become so lengthy and heated. Too many of you are too eager to add thoughts and words that were never stated by the person you are accusing of doing so. It's just jumping to conclusions, and it's really off the mark, at least where I am concerned.

IMO, I think you're exaggerating. His voice isn't that high (although he can sing QUITE high). Is that your criticism though? So then I guess you disliked David Archuleta too because he definetly had a high voice.

SARAH: For me, Adam's voice is PAINFULLY high. I could never tolerate it for more than the minute or two that he is on stage, for example. I have muted his screaming on more than one occasion, out of sheer misery. And you would be correct with regard to David Archuleta. I had no dog in last years fight... because I enjoyed neither of "the Davids". But if push comes to shove, David Cook is much easier for me to listen to than David Archuleta, yes.

Yes, this means I no longer have a contestant that I will back in the 2009 American Idol competition. The only time I have voted in a winner was with Jordin Sparks. I chose her in the audition phase and followed her throughout the process until the end.
