My family always say that I am killing my time here at
net, however I know I am getting experience all the time by reading thes fastidious posts.

I use them more now for sure..however, I'm not sure it is because of Twitter. Interesting poll.

I'm using RSS readers more. I am using RSS readers simple as that.

I was using Google reader, but now using some of the latest Feed readers now a days.

Gotta say that feedly has increased my use of feeds after Twitter decreased it. I use twitter as a filter and then, if something bubbles up through my network, then I go to my rss to get details.

I used to check about 30 feeds several times a day using sage in firefox. Then I changed jobs and forgot to back up my feeds so I lost them all.

The funny thing is I didn't miss them at all. I get my news almost exclusively from twitter now.

In some ways I'm using my RSS less, but actually have just evolved it's use in a different way. Whereas I was following people and blogs on RSS, Twitter is for following people, and am now using RSS in a more focussed way to follow the blogs and sites in the areas that am interested in. I use Netvibes, which allows me lots of tabs of which I've split up my reading into different thematic areas. I still follow far too many sites in RSS, but information junkies like myself always will do!
Re twitter, I've now rarely follow through links from people that say 'just posted my latest blog post' as well. Why? Because it's rarely urgent enough to need to read right there at that moment. (trying to tame my twitter/info overload consumption!)

I get far more tips and feeds via Twitter than I ever did via RSS readers, simply because it's easier.

I like to keep my Twitter feed clear of the newsier stuff I look at in NetNewsWire.

If there is a choice between an RSS and a twitter stream that alerts me to new content, I nearly always choose the Twitter option

I use readers a lot more now: Twitter alerts me to new and interesting stuff and Google Reader keeps me on top of it.

I'm still subscribing to new feeds but most of my feed reading was done on my phone and I'm now more often than not in tweetie instead. Total consumption of feeds is definitely going down as result

Seem to be in GoogleReader a lot more nowadays.

I set up some twitter searches, and so these feed back into my rss feeds.

I just find I am now aware of far more niche subjects/contributors, and by nature they tend to lead me into blogs, so I now subscribe to more.

There is by necessary more "repeated alerts", where I already found the info via twitter (blog to twitter automations).

I visit far fewer "planets", and worry that in one way my horizons have diminished to a degree.
