Efficient electric motors for railways combined with electricity from renewable sources is a very good approach to mass transportation.
However, the use of Means of Mass Transportation does not prove very ecological when capacity is low. In the recent past I took a flight to London with over 50% empty seats! What is the carbon footprint for that?
