i tooootaly have to agree with travis 210%. Marijuana cant be that bad considering the fact that they perscribe it to cancer paitents. CANCER!!! If pot was that bad then Im fer-certain that they wouldnt have passed laws allowing doctors in california to give out weed! Heres my reason for legalization.
[1] it doesnt kill people, where as ciggaretts and beer can and its even LEGAL!
[2] the government would make soooo much money by legalizing marijuana its UNREAL. If anything would bring us out of a recession quicker it would be legalizing pot!
[3] EVERYONE DOES IT! buisness would make SOOO much money if they sold it its crazy! My friends spend more money every week on weed, then they do on ciggaretts - and they are MAJOR cigg smokers, so they would certainly bring BOOKOOO amounts of money alone.
[4] its not at all addictive! ciggs and beer are, AA meetings alone say something, and so are perscription pain killers, but there legal too!
OF COURSE, it would have to have its limitations.
a.) you have to be eighteen to buy it.
b.) you cant have more then an ounce on you at all times, but you may have as much as you want in your posession (which pretty much means if your walking around you can only keep an ounce on you, but you can have as much as you want in your pocket.
c.) you have to be respectable with it, like you cant smoke it in a resturaunt & such.
Studies have been done on people who smoke reefer, and it has been proven that it doesnt effect your health in any BAD ways, if anything it helps.
People who have eating disorders can poke smot & get munchies and it can help them to gain weight. or even those with a lack of appetite.
People with long-term pain can get high and not feel nearly as bad as they did before.
I personaly know a girl who was born legaly blind. when she was 17 she started smoking weed, now she has perfect vision!
so, lets help the blind, the sore & the anorexic!
and the rest of us who just like to be highhhh!!
Ok people who want pot legalized what you need to do is start a petition get everyone who is 18 or older to sign with there e mail and phone number get as many people as you can and than send a letter to your local representive with the petition and your phone number before may or november basicaly have the letter say you want pot to be legalived like it is in california. thats what im doing and i know it will work.

ok first of all people who dont smoke have no right to even start to judge what it does to you i smoke every day the only thing it does is make you happy hungry and sleepy. it dont kill people hurt people or make people crazy i mean it makes people happy and hurts no one and its bein provin so what the hell is going on why is it not legallized yet i mean i live in a town filled with pot heads every where you go you run into people who smoke pot befor i moved here i lived in a town just like the place i live now but there where 30 times the people who smoke i mean face it all you critics let vote yes for legalizing and get the sick out your ass cause its going to happen

We should make alcohol and tobacco illegal too - all drugs not prescribed by a doctor and mandated by either an insurance company or the federal government should be denied to all citizens of this country. That is freedom we all call believe in!
