Why would any half-decent person think that another person doesn't deserve the same rights as they do, just because the person they love is the same sex? You don't control who you fall in love with, that's why it's called falling in love. You don't hurl yourself off the edge in any direction you please, you just fall. Depriving these people of their rights, people that have families and feelings just like you, is exactly the same as whites not allowing colored people to vote. How could a person be so cruel? Just because a guy likes another guy doesn't mean that he is immune to pain, or happiness, or every other emotion that you've ever felt. Every one of you homophobic jacks that clicked "No", think about how you would feel if others took away your rights because your wife had red hair, or your husband was Chinese, and do better in the future.

Not only do homosexuals have the right to marry a consenting adult of their choice, but they should be able to get all the rights and benefits that heteros are granted by the law. Religion doesn't own the word marriage. Religion doesn't have a monopoly on the word marriage. Religion didn't invent marriage. Humans have been coupling long before humans invented religion. Marriage, coupling, pairing, is a human institution. It is not equal unless they can call it marriage under the law too, that would be separate but not equal. Religions will still be able to marry and not marry homosexuals. And for all those who make the ridiculous claim that if we let homosexuals marry, next will be humans marrying their dog is ridiculous. A dog can't give consent to be married, duh. They probably made the same claims when inter-racial marriage was made legal. And most people don't want to marry more than one person, someone always get left out. So the push to make it legal to marry more than one human will never happen. Even homosexuals don't want to marry more than one human, or at least the vast majority don't, just like heteros.
