We always recommend LinkedIn to our clients (we provide business development consulting) as one of the key resources in the front end of the biz dev process. Combined with Hoovers information, it's a win-win combination.
I think it is a great addition to my Hoovers account. i use it on a daily basis to grow my network, find contacts that I would have probably not had access to before. Great idea, keep em coming.
Ever thought about a blog/posting/comment community??
I am a member of LinkedIn and when you go to Executive Tour Travel Services Inc (Located in Daytona Beach) it says no one from Executive Tour Travel Services Inc is a member. It needs to be updated. Then it will be a cool feature
After re-reading it states no one at linked In work here I am a member but not an employee of Linked In. That is misleading it should say how many members of that company uare linked In members
I like the idea, but there needs to be some sort of mass data upload from Linkedin into Hoovers. Hoovers shows our VP of Sales as our Secretary and another employee who hasn't worked here for years as our Sales Director, a position this employee never held. The accuracy is way off. Since this is Hoover's core business, they should focus on the accuracy of the information within each company's record.
I voted "Like the idea, but it has room for improvement" simply because the information is NOT accurate. As stated above, the LinkedIn section almost always claims that no one employed at the company has a profile on LinkedIn...which is almost always false. It doesn't make sense (monetary, time, research, etc. from any perspective really) to have it there if it is not up-to-date. However the IDEA of it is genius!
It would be helpful if you could include titles next to the people listed in the linked in section. Also, have a section for execs who recently left the company and connect to their linked in profile.
All information, even some that is innacurate, is good. Searching for titles below "C" level can be a daunting task on GOOGLE alone. As you know, Hoovers does a great job at the higher levels. Only infoUSA, LinkedIN and a few others cover the rest of the corporate universe.
Linkedin is good but would like contacts listed titles that I market to such as finance, accounting and tax dept titles. Being able to customize 'My Home Page' for each user would be helpful.
Linkedin Is a bit better than it was before, it is still another site that benefits the heavy hitters with allot of reach. I'm not worried though I'm getting there. Not really sure i want to be in the spotlight though like some are Kind of like a low profile.
If nothing else Linkeden is another good link, we thrive on good links.
