There are pollution control rules and CAFE rules, should there be color rules?

I think that there should be a fee for driving a dark colored car or a gas-guzzling SUV or other impactful vehicles. If the color of your car displays your sense of style, similar to license plates with personalized statements, then you should pay the annual fee associated just like drivers with personalized plates do. I don't believe this will heavily reduce darker colored cars or SUVs but maybe just a few and thats fine with me. The income from the fees on the otherhand, I imagine, would be quite steep and significant for some states, ie CA.

How stupid are some of you? What does the color of a car have to do with efficiency? I can't take anything here serious if that is the way everyone thinks.

My car color is my personal liking and I can't even fathom how it impacts global warming that much. Plus it's not something that can be regulated. If I buy a white car, I can still get my own paint and paint it blue or black or yellow. Society won't stand for it.

If another treehugger post is correct that the top 15 largest ocean ships create more pollution than all the worlds millions of cars put together than why bother with your paint job?!
