Is there a Pattern for O'Toole which is the Anglicized version of the Gaelic "Thail" or AuThail. Also Ryle? The other main branches of my heritage are Murphy and Galvin. The O'Toole branch hails from Mayo-back to the 5th century AD, Murphy from Galway, Ryle from Connaught back to the 7th century AD and Galvin-unknown.

Do smaller clans fall under a larger clan aaron, as in Scottish tartans. If so what aaron is available for the name Browne.
If you come up with one, I will be pressed into making a huge supply for all my Irish relations. They think I am a closet Irish knitting maid anyway.
Being able to get a sweater made is simply and hounrable plus. I am doing research to fill in all the gaps in our family tree and I am particualy interested in my irish history. Unfortunately there are few left in my family who can give much history so I am having to start with little. Hope my sweater keeps me warms on the cold nights when I am busy searching

One lady is looking for more of her relatives. I have not meet or know any of my fathers side of the family. I would really like to meet them. My fathers name is Joseph Henry Crotty. When do you guys wear your Arans? Do you wear them for special occasions, or just when you feel like it?
I bought a kit to make a Malone Aran sweater 2 years ago but do not understand the directions that came with it so have not been able to make it. The Irish use different terminology than the Americans. I emailed your company with a question and got a speedy reply but I'm afraid there are too many questions because of the difference in terminology. It would be great to have an Irish "Learn how to knit" book but how do I go about getting one?
I am looking for two clans, McKibbon and McReady. I am not sure if they fall under a larger group. I really know nothing about either clan. One is my side of the family and the other is my husbands. I am not even sure of the spelling. I would like to buy a kit and knit each of us a sweater. Thanks in advance for any help

My great grandfather came to the US from Ireland and fought in the Civil War in the Battle Above the Clouds on Lookout Mountain, Tennessee. The bible he carried in his shirt pocket stopped a bullet. The name was recorded as "Kernon" when he came in to the US- which someone has said must have been Kiernan. Is there a clan Kiernan or Kernon? How would I go about finding out?
Just found your website because a coworker is wearing one of your sweaters today. She bought in Ireland. I would love to have any information or how to find information on the Carroll clan. Thank you.

Is there a pattern for Duggan?
We see our family name O'Connor but it's the wrong clan. We are part of the O'Connor - Kerry clan. It's a large clan but it tends to get swallowed up by the O'Connors of Connaught. Do you have knowledge of or access to the O'Connor-Kerry pattern?

Two Innes or MacInnes brothers stayed in Ireland in mid to late 1700s. Those that kept going to North America we have followed their history. Its those that stayed in Ireland that are the mystery. The unknown generates a real mistique. They are there some place.
To be sure I am a lepricorn and I only wear green knitted aran top hats. Granny Lepricorn sits be thee ole open fire, baking potatoes as she kits thick aran poloneck sweaters for when we go to Tunisia for our Lepriconr holidays.

Jane Cilley writes of not being able to follow instructions for the Malone Aran & wonders about an Irish Knitting book. There is a Harmony Guide 220 Aran Stitches & Patterns Vol 5, published by Collins & Brown and available in knitting stores in Canada, at least, which helped this Canadian to construct a Baby Burke sweater in size 2 using a Sirdar Acrilic yarn and pattern for sizing, guage & shaping, as I swapped in the Burke stitches as shown on this sites' photo.Stitch markers between stitch patterns & tracking each row on paper kept it all organized. Best Of Luck! Mary
