My brother bought me a black one when I was 14 years old, $90 in 1974. We bought 3 more, chopped them up for parts, rebuilt an engine with used parts and I drove it for 2 years before I had my license. Fun car, handled good, but 50mph on the freeway was pretty dangerous. I had to smoke 1/2 a joint before going surfing to reduce the effects of the passing cars honking and flipping the bird. But what a great high school car. 10 years later I sold it to an undercover narcotics officer in L.A. for around $600.
I like your updated version. Seems like it would do an easy 70mph on the freeway and pull any hill. I say this car is extremely rare as I live in L.A. and haven't seen one for at least 15 years. Looks great in red. Good Luck selling this baby. Someone will be very happy.
