What would you like to hear David sing on his AI guest appearance in May?

It would be so crazy if David could sing Zero Gravity. I know there is zero chance of that happening lol.

I love to 'be with you' , but i really don't think he should sing anything ballady on the show. Touch My Hand is so great live...and really connects him to the audience ...would show the real performance side of him that he couldn't really show on Idol

Absolutely not Crush, or ALTNOY. I think TMH is confining, although it does give him the ability to have fun and he enjoys singing this song, so it's a better choice then the other two. I also like Don't Let Go. He REALLY sells this song live, and you can't help but feel the emotion he has for the song. It also does what Zero Gravity does, and shows a completely different side of him. For people who only knew him on the show, they would be totally taken by surprise. They would see his growth as an artist and be amazed by his ability to deliver this song. Plus, the ending is beautiful - which reminds everyone of his amazing voice. More than anything, I think we just need to trust him to make the decision he feels is best.

I definitely think David should sing an uptempo song on AI. He was known for beautiful ballads last year, but he should show his youthful side now. I chose "Don't Let Go" because it's AMAZING live; he reeeally gets into this song!! I just want to see Simon's jaw drop and give David the standing ovation he deserves. ;)

David needs to offer another single with potential to be a success. Jive should release Zero Gravity as performed at his solo concerts. People would flock to buy this record. Crush has reached its full potential and ALTNOY has not really hit the charts like Crush. Let's focus on another song that will bring David at least close to the success that Crush has been. I vote for Zero Gravity on AI and a release by Jive the same day.

I'd definitely like to see him sing an up-tempo song on AI, and would LOVE to see him perform Zero Gravity, or Don't Let Go! If he can't do either of those, Touch My Hand would be my next choice, since he has a lot of fun with that one, too. I can picture the girls in the audience going crazy trying to touch his hand, and it would sure put a smile on the judges' faces! Can't wait!

The best choice is Zero Gravity! Because it is so different from what people have expected from David and what he has put out on the cd. It is so fun, upbeat, and energetic and that is the total opposite of what people saw on the show last year (Shop Around excluded). I just think he has a chance with this song to change perceptions of him and make a big impact on the one of the biggest shows of the year! Go ZG!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It doesn't matter ZERO GRAVITY is going to be his next single or not, he needs to show his ability of music writing & WOW PERFORMANCE especially if he is going to bring his band to the show.
The words in the song ZERO GRAVITY is for everyone. Touch my hand is nice, but it is only for him. I don't think it can compare to ZERO GRAVITY.

SOMEBODY OUT THERE would be GREAT; also ZERO GRAVITY (but I wouldn't hold my breath) ~ anything but a ballad, and anything but his 2 singles, which maybe non-fans have already heard.

It's important for David to perform his current single whatever it may be at the time. If it's not zero gravity, then I hope it's TMH that will be released. There's no sense in performing anything other than his current single.

The business choice is ALTNOY. It will definitely result in a sharp increase in single sales and that's always good. it's on a roll right now so this would be a fabulous boost. David co-wrote it and he should milk that with Ryan ie. David is not just an extremely pretty face, but he can write too!

I want a song that David can move across the stage with. Although I love Don't Let Go live, I'm thinking that David should sing and WILL NAIL Touch My Hand. The crowd will go wild, the ratings will soar, Simon will be smug, and then AI will then return to it's predictable self. And I will be sitting at the edge of my seat the whole time! I can't wait!

I agree with those who say it should be an upbeat tempo song --- NOT A BALLAD which is what most Idol fans will remember him singing.

Zero Gravity, Touch My Hand, or maybe even Works for Me with his "bluesy" addition to the song.

Singing any of the above will allow the audience to see David in a different light than what he performed on Idol! I CANNOT WAIT for this performance on AI --- the ratings are sure to increase tremendously for that nite --- maybe that's the marketing ploy?

Not a ballad. That's how he got the "all he can sing is ballads" rep. I love his ballads - just not for this AI appearance. Something lively or funky would be good.

ZERO GRAVITY please, please, pretty please! I agree with everything Tom said especially that it will show another side of David that alot of people haven't seen yet therefore gaining new fans who will maybe then take a listen to his current CD. He has so much fun with this song and it will be SO exciting to see him perform this on the AI stage!!

I would love anything he sings, but I think it would be absolutely amazing to see him sitting at the piano with Kara on the side and singing "To Be With You", which showcases his beautiful vocals, Kara's harmony, and the piano, without alot of fluff. But I do agree it might not be the best for him to do a ballad since his critics thought that was all he could do. Ha! That's why I would also love to see him sing "It Works for Me". Not only is that an awesome, upbeat song with a great beat & rythym, but the fact that he wrote it makes it even better. I just think that song really says it all and would give an answer to anyone whoever doubted his ability or talent before. And especially if he does that amazing intro like he did on tour (that really shows his bluesy, soul side), it would blow everyone away!! I also love "Your Eyes Don't Lie" which shows yet another side of him. Oh, it's just to hard to pick! But I still think I would like "It Works For Me".

I listened to "Don't Let Go" thinking of the Ai guest appearance and it does not work. there are too many lyrics that seem to echo that he was on idol last year and did not win. check this out:

It's the only thing that matters any more
These lyrics in the ears of AI fans who don't know David since Idol sound like he has nothing going on and is wishing he could come back to Idol. Even the title reflects this potential misunderstanding: "Don't Let Go"
Especially with Simon's viewpoint that the song has to have real meaning for the singer in speaking to the audience, this song is a disaster for David on the Idol stage.

I think it should be a fun song and one that he can work the whole stage, so Zero Gravity is it. But also To Be With You would definitely work and he could open with a gracious thank you to Kara and mention her singing on his album, which totally nails the fan who doesn't know him since Idol. Then my third choice is Works For Me. Maybe Idol can give him the whole night!

I adore David's ballads....adore them, but this is definitely NOT the time for a ballad. Idol had him stereotyped and we wouldn't want him to slide right back into that stereotype.
It's my dream for him to sing Zero Gravity WITH HIS OWN BAND backing him up.....at least that's my dream...*sigh*

Our first choice would be for David to sing ALTNOY, David's current single and one that he co-wrote. Singing it on AI would be great exposure for ALTNOY. Our second choice would be TBWY as it would be a big moment on AI to be singing it with Kara, just as they do on the album. Kara also worked on the lyrics of TBWY.

Maybe giving a gracious thank you to Kara is a bit cheeky. That is not like David. But maybe with his humility more solid than mine he could make it work, idk. I am getting back to "Zero Gravity" for my choice.
