I heard the dog had three other homes in his short life so think about it he was resqued. The Obamas did resque him, also the Presidents girls have allergies they had to pick the proper dog for them. Lets get back to work and worry about bigger things.

I have 4 rescue dogs... he is the candidate for change??? well his word dont lend that motivation with me??? Im very upset... and Im not the only one.... he could have started a wave of adoptions... but nope!! went fot the pure breed... what a 2 faced lier !!

I am totally in favor of rescue dogs but there is almost zero chance that a Portugese Water Dog would ever end up at a rescue. The Obama's could have waited a long, long time for that to happen, if it ever did. Since it is the breed that irritates allergic people the least, I think they made a good choice considering their daughter's health concerns.

I'd say he's a very lucky pooch. He'll be loved by a wonderful family and everyone in the White House will give him plenty of attention. Wouldn't it be a great life to be reincarnated as "Bo"?!! All the best to a great President and his lovely family.
