Robby Benson was awesome in THE CHOSEN.

While it was billed to the viewing public as a sci-fi thriller, Signs, starring Mel Gibson and Juaquin Phoenix is really about the presence of God and his care woven into our lives - and that we must be attentive to them if we are to see them. Great as a suspense/thriller, but even better because of the strong religious undercurrents that hold the story together and give it depth.

Quo Vadis and Barabbas are two of my favorites.

Luis Bunuel's Nazarin should be right at the top. Bunuel, a devout atheist, was always amused the fact he could have picked up an award from Cardinal Spellman. (You'll note it's on the Vatican's list of best movies also.) It's a film that actually makes you think, not a costume drama, and can be enjoyed equally by the devout and anything-but-devout.
