Can she?

Presidents don't stoop/have to deal with petty issues like jilted boyfriends of children. Might as well start setting the tone now - cause the press will try to tear her apart every bit as much as they refused to touch Obama (etal).

I think what really infuriates about Governor Sarah Palin is her continuing refusal to bow down and genuflect before the Lords and Ladies of the MSM, who imagine that they are the Republic's Council of Guardians (like the mullahs of Iran). It is not Sarah, but they who increasingly are becoming objects of ridicule. She refuses to have them impose upon her, their categories of thought or even their modes of expression. She refuses to become a "captive mind". As she said at her recent press availability session: "I know who and what I am and I know the truth of my family . ." This is one very brave woman.

I actually hope it is not over for Sarah but once you become a cariacture in popular culture it is completely impossible to revive a political career. Al Gore had to struggle with just three media created one liners (invented the internet, Love Story was about him, wooden personality) and despite a distinguised political career he could not overcome his joke status. It is hard to count the number of Sarah jokes and there's no turning back the tide at this point. To cite a wild crowd at a pro life rally will not win an election. I am please to be able to post on a website that had a TON of commenters truly dissapointed in the rescue of Captain Richard Phillips from the pirates. I'm glad you patriots have the honesty to express you would rather have an American die then have an American victory. Anything that hurts Obama!! You would rather have the American economy continue to crater that let him get his due. What a bunch of sweethearts!!

    Thanks, Oliva.

I will follow the decision of Marlon. I will change my D into R soonest. I discussed this to my husband (independent) and there's now 2 of us changing our affiliation to R.

My two sons (both in college) will be a hard sell.

I and my husband will attend this week's Tea Party for starter.

Any politician that can stand tall against the relentless and nasty but unwarranted attacks from the rabid leftist loons, can stand strong against anyone who would bring down America. Governor Palin is as a rock. She does not crumble. She does not flinch. She does not retreat. Her courage under fire fits her well for Leader of the Free World. This women is an amazing and unique leader. She is a woman of steel.
Obama would have gone to jelly already if he were her. The Clinton's had to deal with a lot of horrible stuff but survived it. The Governor's trial is different, less weighty, but no less wearing and she will survive it.
The people that need to muscle up are her admirers and supporters. Some of them are losing their nerve. The proposer of this forum is losing his nerve. Some people drop their bundle on the battle-field...don't let it be you. Muscle up Sarah Believers, keep strong...the battle is just getting interesting. Herald your support of The Governor everywhere you go. America needs Sarah Palin to restore American back to it's best. Even in the blackest hours do not weaken

    Helen I loved your post.
I'm with Governor Palin because she is so strong, her principles are so deeply embedded in her core. She is strong because she believes.

I don't even listen to what people say about Sara I support her and pray for her and her family.I can make decisions on my own.I say to those who judge her pull the PLANK out of your own eye before you try to pull the SPLINTER out of her eye. There are evil people on both sides who are petrafied of her and they should be.GOD has a word for people who lie and try to destroy peoples lives HYPOCRITES!!!!!!.When they are pointing the finger at someone there is one pointing right back at them.People who are so unhappy with themselves always try to look for the worst in people which is what they say about that person is what is wrong with them inside so they show who they are.Sara has GOD in her life and they have the devil.I find people who make GOD the center of their life are very happy and content people as I'am one of those people. And the ones without are the most miserable, hateful, viciouse people and they show it,but there are more of us then them. But I pray for them and let GOD handle the rest.Have a BLESSED PASSOVER.Please keep our Military Men and Women and their families in your prayers and the hostage being held by these TERRORISTS and his family.GOD BLESS and GOD BLESS AMERICA. Jean

I think Sarah is just alright. It's just ordinary for a conservative to receive flacks. It's the historical presumption that if you are a conservative, you should be GODLY and SAINTLY and all your family members are SAINTLY too.

That's according to the MSM and the liberals who sided with Satan.

In Judeo-Christian teachings, Satan's work is generally to blame the SAINTS. And no one in this world is PERFECT. Everyone is sinner. So if everyone is a sinner, what are the Judeo-Christians trying so say? SIN NO MORE. Christ and Prophet are asking for the sinners to repent and change their ways. And the blessings of the Heavens will again be opened to them. They are admonished to strive for the ideal.... Not to Commit Sin Again. So technically, th sinners who want to profess their sins and ask others not to sin (which are Christians) are not HYPOCRITE. That's the good news of Christ.

In politics, Christians and Conservatives are alike. Conservatives don't pretend to be always conservative all the time. Conservativism is ideal. Being Totally Free is ideal. So Sarah may not be perfect. She may commit some flack. She can be ignorant in some areas of life. But who knows everything? Harvard Graduates? Common. It's the people from the Ivy League that caused the last Great Depression and the present Recession-turning-into-another Depression.

But even the ANTI-SARAH, HIGHLY LIBERAL, PRO-DEM ADN cannot deny (based on its reports in the last 2 years) that THERE IS SOMETHING IN THIS WOMAN that no other politicians don't have.

    IT'S WISDOM.

In the last election, America didn't choose Wisdom. America chose its stomach and its greed (everyone was afraid of his/her own money).

    To Romney and Newt Fans:

I encourage you to ask Romney and Newt to run in MA or in any state, whether Governor, Congressman or Senator.

2012 Election IS ALL ABOUT EXPERIENCE. That will be the spin of the MSM and the Obama Re-Election Camp. 2009-2012 will yield a new America. All experiences of Newt and Romney in the "Capitalist America" of Old will be criticized as invalid in the very new Obama's Socialist America. Palin, Jindal and Sanford should keep their positions as Governor and match the conditions of the Federal Government by the economic conditions of their states by 2012.

Palin and Jindal can only succeed in getting the moderates' votes in 2012 if she can clearly show that by 2012, Alaskan Economy will be way way better than the American Economy (average of all the states). THAT'S THE REAL REAGAN TECHNIQUE OF WINNING ELECTIONS AGAINST A SITTING DEMOCRAT.

May be best conservative win. May God give the conservative leaders the WISDOM that they need in these troubling times.

I LOVE the gal. Never worked any campaigns before and when she came on the ticket, and then I was one of many that came forth to put hours into the effort. I know she can do it and it is disgusting the way the msm/ and left wing loonies treat her.
GO Sarrrraaahhhh! She has the support of many! Just wait and see!

  • Joe S. - 15 years ago

She would have been a far better and much more credible VP than Joe Biden has shown himself to be. Biden is an embarassment to the country.

  • bobo - 15 years ago

She's done as far as future VP or Presidential hopes are concerned. Palin's image is permanently marred by the Tina Fey parodies and some uncomfortable interviews. For many voters she is Dan Quayle.

We're a superficial bunch and in 2008 the electorate and the news media opted for slick, articulate style over substance.

  • Pete - 15 years ago

Palin has been successful because of her instincts. To go further she needs to augment those considerable instincts with real knowledge of public policy and political philosophy. She needs to fill in those gaps of knowledge that were so glaring in the campaign. She also could use some polish so as to appeal to the urban crowd as well as her base.

Sarah Palin: WOW! (Woman of Worth!)
"Her price is far above rubies...
"She is like the merchant ships; she brings her food from afar....
"With the fruit if her hands she planteth a vineyard....
"She stretches out her hand to the poor, yea and to the needy....
"Her clothing is silk and purple....
"Strength and Honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come....
"She openeth her mouth with Wisdom; in her tongue is the law of kindness...
"Her children arise up and call her blessed; her husband also praiseth her....
"Many daughters have done virtuously, but she excels them all....
"Favour is deceitful and Beauty is vain, but a woman that fears the Lord---she shall be praised....
"Let her works praise her in her gates....."
King Solomon must have foreseen the coming of Sarah Palin when he wrote these words.
    The USA needs a WOW!

  • Marlon - 15 years ago

    I agree with Helen's comment.

I'm also a Democrat. But I am also disappointed with Obama. I have the right to be disappointed because I voted for him. I feel sorry now.

I will never vote a Democrat again. Unlike Helen, I will change my party affiliation to Republican Party.

On the negative issues on that guy Levi Johnston, I am shocked with my liberal friends. Common, libs. We are the ones like animals hitting anything that come willing before us. That's generally "us". So stop this non-sense. Bristol's case is not a "news". Almost all teenage girls lost their virginity at age of 15 or 16. Studies have that finding. Surely, most of these girls come from liberal families. I don't care after all. But liberals are becoming THE BIGGEST HYPOCRITE IN THIS ISSUE ALONE.

If Sarah Palin is the Republican candidate by 2012, I will also support, give money and campaign for her.... and VOTE FOR HER.

I didn't ask for socialism. I still love a Democratic Republican America.

Obama must leave the White House in 2012.

  • RB - 15 years ago

I have been following Governor Palin's career for over a year. I am a true believer in her abilities. I was torn as to how to vote in this poll but ended up voting for option 2 only because I think she needs to improve the communication process within her advisory circle, including SarahPac. Everyone in her circle needs to be singing off the same sheet of music. Specifically, I am referring to instances where an organization thought the Governor had accepted an invitation to speak at an event only be told that the Governor had not accepted. I understand that she wants to ensure that the citizens of Alaska are being served but she also needs to step out in faith and realize that it will also be the citizens in the lower 48 that put her in the White House in 2012. Clear communication is necessary. I wholeheartedly support her values, principals and policy positions and I am committed to helping Governor Palin become the next President of the United States.

  • Helen - 15 years ago

Gosh. I hated her in 2008. Very much. She stole the limelight from Hillary.

After seeing how ineffective Hillary as a State Secretary, I began to reconsider her. She's not really good in foreign affairs. Hillary is better in domestic issues.

But for Obama, I give him an F after 3 months despite of my liberal positions.

Then, I look at this beautiful woman. I look further. I tried to look at the forest as a whole. And she's not that bad. In fact, she's good. She's conservative but she knows when capitalism fails. She works on the market failure while promoting capitalism. I'm a liberal. But I'm conservative and pro-industry first. I'm referring to the fact that she was able to use "government revenues" to provide immediate - not permanent, reliefs to her people during winter days. That's not socialism. That's populist Republicanism. Somehow, I remember my Party to be a Democratic Republican. I never hated the principles of Republicanism considering that Thomas Jefferson, the founder of my party, adheres so much in Republican and Liberal Conservatism. Some of modern Democrats don't know these terms because they only tried to read literatures on the other side of the continent.

I am a Democrat. I hate Socialist. Call me a Reagan Democrat.

SO I CHANGED MY MIND. I WILL NOT CHANGE MY AFFILIATION.

It's my first time to type her name, SARAH PALIN. A

SARAH PALIN IS MY FIRST CHOICE TO DEFEAT THE CURRENT OBAMANIAC SOCIALIST GOVERNMENT!

After all, didn't she THE ONLY LADY WHO FOUGHT AGAINST THE CORRUPT REPUBLICANS?

And she passed with flying colors. So, Let her GO TO WASHINGTON.

LET HER PROVE HOW SNOBBY AND NASTY CONSEVATIVE WOMEN REALLY ARE.

LET HER DESTROY THE WASHINGTONIAN CORRUPT REPUBLICANS..... AND THE PRESENT, BIGGEST LIAR, VERY CORRUPT OBAMANIAC DEMOCRATS IN THE CONGRESS AND THE WHITE HOUSE.

GO SARAH PALIN!! Don't worry about CBS Tyra Banks. Your personal life is just like mine. Children will always be children. They have minds and lives of their own. We don't own them. That's why I am surprised that you are not a devilism Woman trying to teach Bristol of all the Godly Things...... you let her loose..... although she made mistakes...... YOU MANAGED TO GIVE BRISTOL every parent didn't realize................. FREEDOM.

GO SARAH!!!! GO SARAH!!!! Destroy the Obamaniacs!!!!!

Sarah Palin is the best thing to come unto the political scene since Reagan. I agree though that the media has done a number on her and she needs to practice how to respond to the Katie Courics of the world. When Katie asked her the question about "what do you read" implying she was a country bumpkin who probably only read the store specials that week, Sarah should directly have confronted her by asking...Katie, are you implying that I don't read? And calmly respond: Well, what I read daily are national security confidential reports, because I don't think you know, Katie darling, that I am the only governor to be in charge of a national guard (or whatever the proper name) and have security clearance. Once I am done analyzing the threats to this country, I read the WSJ, NYT (ugh!),etc. etc. etc.

When I saw the interview I understood immediately, as did all of us who love Sarah, that Katie was using her condescending tone to get under her skin so my heart sank when I saw Sarah react the way that she did. I understood it, but I knew the damage the witch had done.

  • Shamspade - 15 years ago

Sarah will get my support as long as she is in politics. She does need to enhance her foreign policy credentials, though. When she debated Biden, she did not know enough to take him down over numerous lies, like "we spend as much in one month in Iraq as the total amount we've spent in Afghanistan", or "the French drove out Hezbollah from Lebanon". Those weren't just lies, they were whoppers, but Sarah either didn't know that, or was too unsure of her facts to call him on such blatant fabrications. Of course, the news media was amazed at Joe's "command of the facts".

I sometimes amuse myself with the thought of Arianna Huffington spending even one day working at the most dangerous job in America, commercial fishing in Alaskan waters, which Sarah did for years. That's the kind of education you can't buy at any Ivy League school, and Sarah is a PhD in the school of hard knocks. Neither Washington, nor Jackson, nor Lincoln, nor Truman had college degrees, let alone Ivy credentials. Good for her for being in such good company. Ivory tower groupthink has led to such disasters as Kennedy's "best and brightest", who couldn't seem to get anything right. We are getting a strong dose of that medicine now, and the country has already had enough, IMO. Sham

  • G. Long - 15 years ago

The Left, secretly do fear her, they know she is a threat to the left.
To come up with the crap of Trig being Bristol's child, as a valid concern of her being a competent to run for the highest office in the land, is laughable.

But don't EVER say barry is ineligible due to his birth certificate thingy,
now THAT is just totally wrong, you bitter, hater, racist, extremeist, radical,
    nazi!!!

The left is a joke, they know it, but still try and defend it, now THATS FUNNY!

  • Michael H - 15 years ago

I was an enthusiastic supporter of Gov. Palin, was hoping she'd be picked by McCain, and was thrilled when she was. I still think she'd make a terrific president. But let's get real, people. However unfairly, the attacks by the MSM have damaged her image beyond repair. Nominating her would be an act of suicide. Having her actively campaign for the nominee would be extraordinarily helpful. Having her be the nominee would not.

  • Steve W - 15 years ago

The fact that energy independance is the most important issue of our time means nothing to these jerks in the WH. Energy is the life blood that runs thru the economy. Energy independence is the most importnat thing that the country faces. Sarah knows more about this than most politition

  • greg - 15 years ago

Try asking the 800,000 who attended her rallies during the campaign. Try asking the nearly 60 million people who cast a vote for McCain-Palin in November. Try asking the 4,500+ who are willing to pay to see her in Indiana next week. Try asking the tens of thousands who will undoubted turn out to the events she will attend in the lower 48 starting next week. Try asking the thousands who have donated to SarahPAC, and the thousands who will donate to her legal defense fund once it's established. The media and the dems aren't attacking her every day because she has no future, it's because they know she has a future.

  • Cari Kelemen - 15 years ago

I heard today, from Pete Sessions press sec., that her staff is incompetent. If she replaces them with people who know what they're doing, she'll be unstoppable.

  • bg - 15 years ago

Once she comes out as a candidate of her own, not on the bottom of a McCain ticket (of all tickets!), I think we'll see a much different, more capable candidate - and I think she'll surprise even the Republicans how popular she is.

  • Brian - 15 years ago

The more they hate her, the more I love her.
