Our parish has a very moving Holy Friday Vespers service with the procession (outdoors around the grounds of the Church) & veneration of Christ's burial shroud. During this service, parishioners approach the burial shroud on their knees, venerating (kissing) each of the wounds of Christ. It is hard to do without tears in your eyes.
It was my sincere hope to take my kids to Holy Thursday Mass, Stations on Friday & then Veneration on Friday night, Food Blessing on Saturday but now they are all sick...and so am I! We will be at Easter Mass Sunday morning in some form (whoever isn't super sick) but I'm so sad b/c this was going to be our first time back to all of these since the birth of our little girl now that she is old enough to stay home (not nursing) w/Daddy. I'm hanging onto the Truth that God knows what He is doing & so home is where I need to be right now. I'm hoping for not too much sickness on Easter so we can really celebrate!
I'm trying to be funny but when I took this poll I was thinking that we need a poll later that says "Which of the activities did you actually participate?" . B/c w/ little ones plans can change quickly:)
