How does the Life On Mars U.S. finale compare to the U.K. version?

Actually, both endings were poopy. Suicide and virtual reality? Meh.

The awful U.S. ending couldn't hold a candle to the British version, which was startling and brilliant.

The U.S. ending wasn't as clever as the British version, but it was okay.

The "Mars lander" ending was about as good as having Sam off himself. They're both mind-fucks of different types.

The U.S. version pwned the British version! So much cooler.

Both endings are utterly brilliant. I can't choose between them. So different, and yet both so amazing!

I loved the US ending. I had no idea they would go that direction, I thought it was funny and new. The British version has Sam deciding that his whole modern world is so bad, he decided to commit suicide so he could maybe have a few seconds in the past. Changed him from a strong man trying to bring new ideas to the old culture to a pathetic loser. The British ending almost made me wish I hadn't watched the show.

I can't remember a tv series finale that I was more happy with.
