The thing is that people do not value their ethics. In school, we learn about ethics and how we can be accountable for our actions. when people are being recruited, the assumption is that they are responsible people. For instance, a person working in a bank is assumed to be honest and of integrity. when he steals money from it that is the way he was and his education has nothing to do with it. it just means that the person lacks personal ethics. Schools have nothing to do with personal ethics. Personal ethics are things that a person can choose to follow. Schools are just places where a person can be exposed to the world and understand how to use his personal values for the well-being of the society.
Should we blame “MBAs” our the shareholders who hired them? Who is unethical, the ones that demand for profits at any cost or the person that delivers that profit? If the shareholders continue to ask for those profits I see no reason why business schools have to change the way they teach.
