Absolutely they all overreacted! The coach was just trying to make fun of this era of political correctness. And he is right...we might not want our children to feel the pain of losing, but what are we setting them up for once they grow up and there is noone there to protect them from "losing?" The email was nothing more than what it was meant to be...a humorous, well written, icebreaker.
You've got to be kidding. Just another example of the dumbing down of America and the nanny State. People need to lighten up and grow up!
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but.....Losing is for losers.
Scituate as a community needs to focus on more important things than these witch hunts. I support team Green Death and Mr. Kinahan's use of humor.
If my kids were still in the Scituate sports program I'd want them to have Michael Kinahan as their coach. Too bad the PC police had another drive by lynching. Truly a sad ending to another thankless volunteer job.
Having been a coach in Hanover sports for many years, it’s easy to understand how a few disputatious parents can cause problems for folks trying to make a contribution to their children’s development....
Shame on those parents or officials that forced his resignation.
Maybe Mr. Kinahan should come to Marshfield and coach. We have a "Kiss Ass" attitude about sports here. That is why Scituate won't play us in most sports. By the way, what ever happened to our sense of humor?
