Should the federal government have more power to regulate banks and other financial institutions? (Poll Closed)

The Gov't should stay out. If the bank is running their business poorly, they should fail like every other business. It will only make them wiser in their decision making. Why should we have to pay to bail them out? They don't understand if we made bad choices and can not pay them right away.

I don't believe that the question refers to bailing out the banks, etc. out. I believe that it asks about regulation. I also believe that the mess that we find ourselves is a result of deregulation and so, yes, I would encourage that regulations be set in place again.

The government has done such a great job of running everything else, Social security, medicaid, medicare, lets allow them to run our banks also. Serious and heavy sarcasm intended. The only thing that should have been done is keeping uber large banks from buying up all the small banks and making one large bank to fail. But i am just a small minded middle class worker that doesnt have any money invested in these large banks.
