Up until now I never believed that crime does'nt pay. I now stand corrected and educated. Crime DOES pay, just ask any AIG exec. or major banking official. They have figured out a way to blackmail the American public and are getting away with it. I do not care about Aig etal. Let them sink or swim on their own merrits. If they are the hotshot financial whiz kids they claim to be, they will get through it. Greed is a great motivator for people like that. I think they all shoulde either kill themselves or allow someone to do it for them. After what they have done to both investors and the taxpayers they deserve no less.
If I had done my job as poorly as they did and asked my boss for a bonus I would have been fired on the spot. I had been told that people in those possitions require what is called "motivational money". My answer to that is "do your job or hit the road". I think that is enough motivation for anyone to do a good job. The best job security is a job well done and done with pride. Those arguments are at best are plumb stupid.
There are those that are trying to blame a newly elected president for all that is ailing this country. PLEASE!!! Where were all of these foaming at the mouth radical rebublicans when Bush and his buddies were raping this country? Why didn't they do something 6 years ago. It is easy to lay blame, It is hard to accept responsibility for dropping the ball. Its O.K. to say "I made a mistake". But to pay for bad behavior is not. When the first AIG party was thrown someone should have seen the writing on the wall.

Thank you, Lew.

Democrats wrote the so-called "Stimulus Bill", Democrats put the provision in there about the bonuses. AIG isn't the guilty part here, Chris "Pinky" Dodd
who included the provision in the Stinkelus Bill, now that's another story.
One tenth of one per cent of what AIG received, chump change.

I don't care what AIG executives were promised, that was before bail out money was being provided on the back of the American tax payers.
This is just the kind of thing that created this mess to start with, too many people making too much money and being rewarded for poor results.
NOBODY is worth tens of millions of dollars. Greed is the problem, greed and misuse of other peoples money. President Obama mentioned, up front, that business places (banks etc....) that take the federal money would be limiting the executives to $500,000.00 or less in bonus money. We should put most of them in jail before some of us take to the streets. We the middle class are being taken advantage of by the super rich, it's Robbin Hood in reverse.

I also disagree with AIG taking these bonuses. However, I am a little dismayed at the fact that many are pointing the finger at Obama considering the man was left with the turmoil by the former President Bush. Have you forgoten alread or you experiencing some type of amnesia? In addition, the former President also backed the previous stimulus bill which had no type of regulation for those who were using the money improperly. If you want to know where you are going, look where you came from. Its easier said than done to clean up a mess.
