Tax,Tax,Tax, is that all you people know? We just got rid a a sales tax that the school board levied on us, now another one is in the making. How did we get by before the "big real estate" boom? Now we have hundrends of less students in the county and more schools than we need, thanks Big Max. Why don't we sell the schools that are not needed to some factory? At least they will bring jobs and help the school system with additional dollars.

You wouldn't notice a one cent sales tax. You would have to spend $100 for you to pay $1. If you bought a car that was $15,000 you would pay all of $150 extra, how would you ever get by. I'm sure you will be whining when they raise real estate taxes so that we can continue to have a decent public education system. Plus, if we raise sales taxes we can get tourist to help pay for it while if they raise property taxes only locals pay for it, and with the amount of money tourist spend who knows they may would be able to lower property taxes.

Absolutely a penny tax would help greatly and not impact any of us too hard. Our children are our most valuable resource. We should be willing to do whatever we can to help them.

The FL Lottery was suppopsed to be a great idea to supplement our schools until the legislature reduced the state funding for the FL school system by an amount at least equal to the amount the lottery brought in. If the 1% is approved, look for our elected officials to further reduce the school budget money by at least the amount expected to be brought in by the tax.

Clean out the DROP program with the retirees still working, reduce the staff at the Admin. offices, end automatic step raises, get rid of tenure and then I'll consider more money for our poor teachers.

Maybe it should be a dime. Then perhaps we can teach Frank how to spell.

Giving the state more money to misspend and mismanage. I think not. If you really think that money will be spent in the proper place, you are naive. Just look to the past........
