I almost clicked on "The season is already a success" but voted "finish above .500" instead. If the season ended today I would say it was successful. But it does not. We've got 14 more games to play. If we flame out and lose 12 of those 14 I don't think anyone would consider this a successful season.
I almost clicked on "Finishing above the Ducks" but voted "The season is already a success". Basically, my thoughts are this: the Kings have greatly exceeded their expectations this season, which is my definition of a success. If they were able to finish better than the Ducks, that would probably be the greatest thing that could happen this season for the Kings. But the season is already a success, in my eyes, no matter what... as long as they don't go 0-14-0. Then, we'd better get Tavares.
Nothing short of making the playoffs should be considered succesful. That was the goal at the beginning of the year and it has not changed. Right now it is still a bit of a tossup, but looking at the choices giving I think our expectations have greatly deminished as kings fans.
I'm of the Detroit Redwings philosphy of anything less than the cup is a failure. Although I can not deny great strides have been made with this team.
