The worst Best Picture of the last 40 years has to be American Beauty.

1985 Best Picture should have been Witness.

American Beauty for worst, Mulholland Drive for best. Mullholland Drive is one of the few movies that can justifiably be called a work of art. It transcends its medium and transforms it at the same time. I can't think of another story told by the subconscious images of an unconscious "narrator", let alone a story told so powerfully and truthfully. Genius.

Departed is a pretty good movie but there is no way should it have been best picture. It is the worst best picture, and it is the worst Scorsese picture
