I wouldn't call Barbie a hero, but she is only a piece of plastic that has made many little girls, including me, happy. I never realized at the time that she was actually contributing in a negative way to the way I viewed my body, my looks, my self image....I did not know this until other people pointed out her "Evilness," her "Big Breasts," her "Bony Body." Our problems in society have much more to do with our internal thoughts about ourselves, our upbringing, our experiences, and the MEDIA. We can only blame Barbie for a small part of this negativity. It is the MEDIA who are the 'Evil Dictators!' And until we seek internally, dig deeply, and finally love ourselves....nothing will change. Once we do that, Barbie will only be what she truly is: A superficial piece of Plastic.
