As a fan of Montreal I would have voted for Roy, but in order to get to the ranks of best in the world, you have to have to whole package. Numbers are nice but you must also be able to represent your sport properly, which Roy has not learned or done yet (just me, myself and I). All the way for Martin Brodeur.

Choosing the best goaltender of all time is difficult. It depends on the criteria used to evaluate this benchmark. Of course, this isn't a scientific approach to assessing the results.

    Grant Fuhr

There are a lot of goalies not even on the list, Dominek Hasek, the gumper
and others were all great in their time. Chris Osgood has a few Stanley Cup rings however his goaltender is no longer a factor in the NHL. Therefore I
as a Detroit fan who has followed the late Terry Sawchuk's play, he to the
best of my knowledge was one of the greatest of all time.

Terry Sawchuk hands down - he is from a different era and I am sure that most of today's voters don't even remember him.

For me Bill Durnam was the best goaler

I think I would have to go with (other) on this list. Jacques Plante, he brought goaltending to the modern age. (mask wearing, playing the puck, writing of books, & teaching his craft.)
The greatest goalie to me brings more than just wins, it's what he did for the position as a builder.

While I am not a Devils fan, and consequently not a Brodeur fan, the Goalie's greatness is without question. The stats he has surpassed were final numbers; Brodeur easily has 3 to 5 seasons left in him, possibly more. That's just a fact, not an opinion. Personally, he is worse than Brad Pitt.
