My opinion:
Catherine Hardwicke is probably the worst director in the world, and she should, in no way, have any further affiliation with the Twilight series. She has already ruined enough with her "skills" directing Twilight.

Hopefully, Chris Weitz can do at least an okay job, with New Moon. Anything would be better than the lovely directing skills of Hardwicke.

OhhhAnd... Robert Pattinson is the hottest person alive.

I think that I really couldn't care less. I would see the movie anyway. The thing is that Robert should focus on his job as Edward. And for Catherine, she is not the worse director ever, I don't think she did a horrible job directing Twilight. But I think they could do better since Eclipse is the most intense in the series in my opinion. And I don't like the fact that they are even CONSIDERING Drew. I don't think that they should have her do that because I don't think she would do a very good job with it. I don't know about Chris either, I love his job in the Golden Compass so I think he will be good for New Moon with all the special effects and everything but I still don't know about Eclipse. He should help out still with the werewolves, if they turn out good. I don't know maybe they should hire a big time movie director, someone who is well known and has experience with the things that directing something as big as the Twilight series would take. I say, since I am watching it right now, they should have the director from Changeling (with Angelina Jolie) do Eclipse or something like that since they have really great set design and stuff but also he has a great vision for the movie. All in all I think Catherine would be the best choice because she has had experience with the Twilight series but also Chris would be a good choice because he WILL have experience with the Twilight series. Maybe Stephenie should be the director. It was her vision in the first place. I really don't know.

I think they should have found a great director for twilight and kept the same director for the WHOLE series. My personal opinion about catherine is that she did a...not so good job on twilight but it wasnt horrible. Everyone is saying bad things about her. And what i dont understand is that they dont even know how hard it was for her to right the script and to find everyone to play the parts and plan out every little single thing that no one even recognizes! And she only had like 8 months to do it all! So lay off of her. If you think she did such a horrible job then you go try in direct it. And I think any of the candidates would be good for the job. hey I think Catherine Hardwicke did a pretty good job directing Twilight I don't think drew would b able 2 top wut she Catherine did. Rob is just an actor which i don't think he will make a good director either. Maybe just sticking 2 playing Edward would b a good idea. I don't know about the rest of the other candidates. As the series gets more intense they will need to choose a better class of directors. Spielberg.... Columbus... has to be someone who can handle the task and actually do a good job at taking a 700 page novel and turning it into at ~3 hr movie

ok i think that Drew would be a good director because she has experients in front of the screen.... and i think her being a director would be great she is just trying something new maybe she'll be good at it. so i want her to be the Eclipse director. And that Hardwicke, she made everyone too pale and the lighting was bad, i expected the Vamps. to be pale but not everyone else. So im hoping in the next movies they make it look right.....but other than all that, i loved all the books, and Twilight so far.

i think as long as chris doesnt change EVERYTHING like Catherine did in twilight then i would love for him to stay on as the director. i mean seriously i read the book after i watched the movie and i was pissed cuz SOOOOO many good parts where changed or taken out and it was total BS so as long as nothings changed this time like how people meet then i am perfectly fine with chris as director.

But i do agree with umisbell about Rob doing it and not letting his fans down. He already is doing a good job as Edward Cullen. Well I think Catherine should NOT direct another Twilight movie. It's not that she is a bad director, just not a good one for this movie. She is more into B rated films, Art Festival type flicks. She is not into big Hollywood films. She even stated that in an interview. Other film's she has done were good, for what they were. I feel she was a bad choice to begin with only because this is not her genre. She did hurt the film(as I am a HUGE TWILIGHTER!!) due to her trying to keep it low budget. And this was not a low budget film. As you will see with Weitz the special effects will be really good, as will the cast (hopefully). The one scene I thought that was the cheesiest and made it look like just plain bad acting was when they were playing baseball at the end when James and them showed up and they were all getting defensive and all was really poor directing more than bad acting. As we all know that our Edward aka Robert is a good actor and this scene didn't show that in any of them. It didn't have the cinema feel, it had more of The Blair Witch feel with the way you felt like it was shot with a home movie camera. This is just my opinion, I don't think bad of Catherine but she needs to go back to her films and as she said it "stay away from the BIG Hollywood films". I have high hopes for Weitz due to how well he did with the Golden Compass.

um...first of all robert should stay fouced on playin the part of edward instead of directing the movie. and i think they should of just kept the same director so they dont have this stupid problem!! (: but who ever the director is they better make it as good as the first movie!! i cant wait till new moon comes out they need to hurry up and not make the movies a year a part bc thats just to long of time to wait!!

I personally think that Chris Weitz should direct Eclipse. Catherine did a piss poor job directing Twilight. I love the movie, but every time i watch it, I curse her for how terrible a job she did. I think Chris Weitz should direct Eclipse, purely because of the trailer I saw tonight. The trailer for New Moon is remarkable. It makes Twilight look even worse than it already did. I wish that we could just restart and have Chris Weitz redirect it. Actually, I wish anyone could redirect Twilight, because truly, Cathrine made an abomination of Twilight.
