To me and a lot of others..... the Goliath Crane to the Boston skyline is comparable to that of the Twin Towers to NYC skyline. Other cities have their skyline landmarks as well. Its a huge part of this area. I believe those that voted "NO" did not grow up on the South Shore or live in MA long enough to have an attachment.
I have lived in Tucson, AZ since 1984 - however: Massachusetts will ALWAYS be home to me and I make it home every couple of years always take the commuter boat in from Logan. The scenery and landmarks are forever changing - Goliathe will be one more landmark that I will never see again:-(
