No one is irreplacable. All jobs are on the line. Management will just swoop in and pink slip everyone. Everyone but the MANAGERS. Our world is upside down. The workers need to be laying OFF the do nothing administrators and managers.

I wasn't worried either until I was axed. As an over educated, older worker I have NO chance of finding another job in Maine.

For those that don't want to worry, you need a job that's recession proof, or should I say depression proof since we are in Obamaland.

I don't think it's management. I don't think we're over educated. I don't even think it's age. I think it is the lack of manufacturing that is dragging America into the ground.

The poll should have had an option for retired folks such as myself. Either a 'retired' or 'not working/not looking' option.

I wonder how many people fall into the bracket of not being able to afford internet service to take this poll......after losing a job.

Until the big Conglomerates bring the manufacturing jobs back to this Country there will be no FIX!
These problems we are now having are the symptoms not the cause.
Jobs are the only answer and when there are none to be found, guess what?
We let Companies like Walmart , for the sake of a quick , short time savings, to destroy all other competition and then we wonder why no work!
If they used only American manufacturing than we would not be in this mess.

What drove jobs out of the U.S. was our standard of living, which is higher than most countries; when our country goes through periods like theses, recession, economic slumps, the living standard drops and so does the cost of doing business here, wages, so labor costs will be completive to the rest of the global market, and so the U.S. will be more competitive.
