the sea lion has no predatory enemies in our area any more. No orcas no Indians no white men... they have no fear. the people who want to protect them have not had a net snapped out of their hand or watched as a boat gets tipped over while the people were netting a fish. The seals are in the river 12 months a year , eating spawning size sturgeon's. they have taken over docks at west-port Ilwaco and warrington. The biologists only count the salmon and steelhead that they eat at the dam, what about the ones they take up and down the river.. The only people that are against Killing the sea lions are the people who use the river the least, they know little of what gos on out there in the real world. You may take offence to that but ;you know its true.
These animals are not the cute trained seals you see at the circus throwing frisbees these animals are as big as the largest bulls you have ever seen at the fair... there has been a lot of personal property lost due to them , Ill bet you haven't seen that in print before... We don't want all of them killed but we would like to see enough of them killed that they show fear of being around humans again.

If the Northwest wants to address every killer, then they should address Humans for causing the most damage. Humans who built dams, fisherman who catch thousands of fishes are the top cause for salmon to be endangered. Sea lions do not eat as much salmon as sport fisherman will catch. The sea lions were also endangered before, and who was the primary cause of this? Humans! Sea lions eat the salmon to survive that is their food, and humans catch fish to eat too, but we are a larger population that sea lions, so we eat more salmon than sea lions all together. Why should sea lions be killed just because we do not want to breach the dams; we will lose money if we do. So, sea lions should be kill just to prevent the stocks to decrease? I think we should not kill the sea lions just so we will not get affected. Sea lions should not be blamed for something that Humans caused. They should not pay the price for something they did not do.
